Description

Bantam Cottage is a lovely old, pet friendly, 2 bedroom cottage with beautiful polished timber floors. There is an open fireplace to laze in front of in the sitting room. The front verandah looks out over the town to the hills behind and is a lovely place to watch the world go by.
At the rear of the house is a large deck overlooking farmland and a quiet rural scene. This catches the morning sun and is a peaceful place to enjoy a morning tea or coffee.
Directly across the road is the wonderful Berry Sourdough Bakery with its delicious food, coffee and wood fired breads.
The wonderful shops, cafes and restaurants are only around the corner and 2 minutes walk away.
Gabby's reception centre is also only a two minute stroll down the road.

Inside the Cottage

The heart of the cottage is the sitting room which has a beautiful open fire, laid and just ready to light in winter. The kitchen has an oven, stove, all the utensils needed, and a range of basic pantry items are supplied.
In the main front bedroom is a queen bed while the second bedroom has a double bed. Both beds are made up with fresh linen and bedding and have electric blankets. Soft fluffy towels are also supplied.

  • "What a pretty little cottage! We absolutely loved spending our Easter break there. Thank you for setting up the fireplace ready for our cosy firelit evening and the chocolates and flowers were very much appreciated. We would love to spend more time there in the future. Berry was a hive of activity over the Easter break with wonderful tea shops and bakeries to enjoy and homeware shops and sweet factories well worth a visit. Thank you very much Janet and Mark for a memorable time in your little cottage. "

  • "We spent 2 nights at Bantam with another couple, both of us with newborn children. While very pretty, quite good size and in an excellent location, we found the property well below standard. In very hot summer conditions, no fly screeens to keep the bugs and insects out made the property unbearably hot. There were many insects and huge cockroaches making things rather uncomfortable. There were gaps in the floorboards and a very small and basic bathroom and kitchen. We were really disappointed in this property and felt it didn't rate the cost we paid for it."

  • "Thanks Janet and MArk. Your wonderful cottage had everything we were after. The best location, open fire, delightful charming house and comfy warm beds! A couped more rugs especially in the kitchen would help keep the heat in but otherwise wonderful. Doggy loved it too, and oh the garden is so pretty... thanks again"

  • "We really enjoyed our three day stay at Bantam Cottage. The nice touches: fresh flowers, chocolates and an open fire ready to light, made us feel welcome right away. The cottage is beautifully furnished, and has a calm, relaxing ambience. Also, the location is a short walking distance to Berry's attractions. Thank you Janet; we will be back!"

  • "Beautiful little cottage. Presentation was great with that extra added touch of flowers and chocolates. Zoe and Zac our 2 border collies enjoyed it as well. Nice yard for them to run around in and close to the oval to take them for a walk. Also not far from the beach. Close to the shops and the lovely bakery across the road (which we went to every day). We will be back."

  • "Fantastic little place. Well appointed and great to be so close to everything...especially to be able to get take away coffee and delicious bread and pastries from the bakery across the road."

  • "We had a great time! This charming little cottage is full of character, from the beautiful polished floor boards to the quaint kitchen. There was plenty of room for two couples, as long as you don't mind the Shower being off the kitchen! The only minor problem was that the TV did not work "

  • "Bantam Cottage is just gorgeous and perfect for two couples. Spacious, sunny and tastefully furnished. We were very comfortable, and warm too thanks to roaring open fire. Quiet location, yet short walk to Berry's shops and restaurants. "
