A 15 minute walk to the heart of Sydney via Darling Harbour, City Lights Terrace offers a unique Sydney stay experience. The building was constructed in the 1800\'s, to house workers employed in the many wool storage buildings in Ultimo and Sydney\'s Rocks areas. The house is compact, in keeping with its humble beginnings and has the feel of original Sydney town. It has been fully renovated and newly furnished to provide a modern, comfortable holiday experience.
The terrace will sleep 6 people and is fully airconditioned. The 3 bedrooms consist of 2 upstairs bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, whilst the downstairs bedroom has a double bunk bed - 2 singles. A highchair, cot and bedding are available as well as a 2 toddler gates.
The stair case is quite steep, typical of a terrace house.
Other features are a private courtyard with a leafy canopy overhead, a timber outdoor table setting for 6 and BBQ. Double glazed windows in the front rooms, attractive polished timber floors and a skylight in the new, fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a table setting for 4 and a 2nd table can be added to comfortably seat 6 people. We have provided books, LCD TV, board games, and a home entertainment system with a selection of DVD\'s for relaxing after a day in the City.
Close to all major Sydney tourist attractions and public transport. Haymarket Monorail Station is a 2 minute walk from the house, mostly under a covered walkway and 50 metres further on is a Light Rail station. Central Station is a 10 minute walk from City Lights Terrace. The Red Sydney Explorer Bus stops just near the house opposite the Powerhouse Museum and visits 27 sights around Sydney running every 20 minutes. The Entertainment Centre and the Convention Centre are about 5 minutes walk from the house.
Darling Harbour resturants have a beautiful backdrop of Sydney city especially at night. For a quick and easy meal near the house the famous Hannah\'s Pie shop is just on the corner of the street - the Lush Bucket a little further down has a range of fresh salads and Cafe Dendu is a pleasant outdoor cafe for light meals and is about 100 metres further up on the same street as the house. There are numerous other resturants and take-aways etc within a few blocks of the house. A 24 hour mini supermarket is located within one block - opposite the new Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre.
The Discover Sydney website is helpful for public transport details, maps and brochures that can be downloaded.
Car Parking is just 2 minutes walk from the house at Wilson\'s Entertainment Car Parking, a multistory undercover facility. The cost of $15 per car for a 24 hour period and includes multiple entry and exits. You can locate the car park on a street map between the Powerhouse Museum and the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
The pedestrian access to the car park is at the same point as the Haymarket Monorail Station - a 2 minute walk to City Lights Terrace. We would recommend you take advantage of this facility for a worry free stay if you absolutely need a car. Parking a car on the side of the street requires parking fees to be paid between the hours 10am to 10pm, every day.
