The Farmhouse is a second home on my 70 acre arabian pinto horse stud in Glenlyon, a farming village 10 kms from Daylesford. Taringa Stud is surrounded by the Wombat Forest and Kangaroo Creek meanders through the property at the bottom of the hillside.

It's uncomplicated, roomy and sunny, ideal for a couple wanting privacy or for a family. It's rural, great views, no manicured gardens or imitation antiques. It has polished wooden floors, large rooms, comfortable beds and a spacious verandah.

Loved pets can holiday with you but doggies need to be inside overnight because of the wildlife.

Taringa Stud overlooks eucalypt forest, it's peaceful, the last place on a dead end dirt road. My house is on the next hill over from your hill so you'll be undisturbed unless you wander over to say hello or need something.

It's homely and spacious with nothing too precious to worry about if you have children. There is a slow combustion fire and plenty of wood, I have my own wood stand. It's warm and cosy and if you want a longer break, prices are reduced.

10 mins from Daylesford

Daylesford is a vibrant, artistic town full of interesting shops but my advice to you is... give the shopping and yourselves a break and wile away your time at The Farmhouse. Everything is here, no need to drive anywhere. Just bring food and enjoy lazy days. Of course sipping a wine or two on the verandah is a pleasant way to spend the afternoons as you watch the horses grazing on the hillside. That's what I do, hic!
