It is a relaxed and peaceful suburb that does not have the dense mass of units seen in some of the neighbouring suburbs.
There is a shopping centre within walking distance that includes: a general store bottle shop, and a selection of cafe restaurants. There is also a jetty and boat refuelling station on the water.
Over the eastern bridge you'll find Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Main Beach, while over the western bridge there's the bustling suburb of Bundall. Shop at the various boutiques, dine at fine cafes and restaurants, or have a go at jet skiing, water skiing and wake boarding in the canals.
