Indigo Cottage is named after the historic Indigo Goldfields and native Indigo flower. It is a weatherboard and granite-stone hideaway built in the 1890s for gold miner Mr Beetson who owned the property from the 1870s. It has been beautifully restored to tastefully combine the authentic heritage features with modern luxury.
Inside the fully self contained cottage you will enjoy new furniture, 3 luxurious bedrooms, open fire for the winter nights and evaporative cooler for warm summer days. Views of the Gorge and delightful cottage garden can be seen from most rooms of the house, verandahs and deck and even when you cook up a storm in the well appointed new kitchen.
Enjoy your meal in the dining room with the fire, or in the kitchen or use the outdoor dining setting on the elevated deck with views.
Indigo Cottage is the true Australian country town experience, while just 10 minutes walk away is the main street of the historic gold town of Beechworth, where strong fresh coffee is in abundance along a promenade of galleries, restaurants, and boutique shops.
Enjoy the fresh air in the garden with native birds and animals or try the numerous walks and bike trails in the Beechworth district. More photos are on our own sight.
