Guest Reviews

  • "With a small group of friends, we recently stayed at "Winch" and our general reaction was "fantastic". We particularly enjoyed the charm of the Victorian dining room, and playing through the CD collection in the modernized lounge room. The renovations and facilities are very tasteful and of a very high standard. "

  • "The house was adorable and the location great for a country stay with an added bonus of being a half hour drive to the beach! All of my family loved it from my Mother (her favorite was the sun filled dining room) to my 16 month old son (his favorites were the horses)."

  • "We were delighted with the property. It has been renovated to a very high standard with quality linen and bedding provided. The breakfast/dining room is sun drenched in the morning and the leadlight windows throughout the property sparkle. The library in the open-planned kitchen/lounge room is extensive with numerous categories. The bathroom and separate toilet are privately situated and are easily shared. We would hope to stay again."

  • "We recently scanned the internet to search for a " pet friendly" location and were indeed fortunate to find a holiday house at Winchelsea. This former farm house is set on approx 16 acres and has been attractively renovated providing for a very comfortable stay. We can thoroughly recommend this location. "

  • "A home away from home?It is a gorgeous home, very spacious, extremely comfortable & has everything you need for a very, very affordable price. Great place to stay if you love the beach, shopping, want to enjoy a drive down the Great Ocean Road, somewhere to entertain friends or just have a peaceful break from our crazy life. The two beautiful horses add to the atmosphere, we all loved spending time with them. The owner is very obliging & helpful. I felt very comfortable calling or emailing her with any questions I had. I loved the flowers, books, beautiful linen, gorgeous dining table etc that adds warmth & comfort to this stunning home. It's very obvious that the owner cares a lot about her guests. Thank you so much Lorraine for making our stay one to remember, we will definitely visit again. The Plumb family "

  • "Very nice experience (especially for people who are used to city lifes) to be accompanied by friendly horses in the old Vitoria farm house. Exceptionally nice sunset view."

  • "We had a very relaxing stay at Winchelsea. The house was neat, clean and modern. We loved the roominess, perfect for two families, or more! And don't worry about bringing reading material. The property has a bookshelf with something for everyone !"

  • "Being unfamiliar with the area, after consulting a map it appeared that Winchelsea might be a good base to explore both the Great Ocean Road and Melbourne - this proved to be the case. There is so much to see and do all within an easy drive HOWEVER, our "home away from home" was so comfortable we found it difficult to drag ourselves away each morning. Obviously a recent addition since the photos were taken for the stayz website, a loungeroom bookcase ( with a wonderfully eclectic selection) was a real bonus. There was something to interest everyone ... even our 16 year old son! Highly recommended! "
