"My ultimate 'chill out' place to stay! The photos do not do it justice, this has such a peaceful relaxing ambience with dolphins dancing in the morning and kayakers rowing by at sunset while we had drinks and bbq in the fairy lit gazebo just by the private jetty. There is always something to look at on the Murray River and from a great vantage point. We kayaked for hours on a warm Sunday morning and then took a boat into Pinjarra for lunch and visited the gorgeous boutique cafes and interesting shops and on the way viewed the beautiful homes and gardens along the waterway amongst the natural forest. In winter we built a fire and played pool, listened to music, watched dvd’s, had a dinner party. It is a beautiful well equipped well kept home with lovely natural gardens of all types of flora and you feel a million miles away from anyone, it is very private and peaceful, can’t recommend highly enough."

"My family have stayed at Heron Place on a number of times. But this particular time was with a large crowd of 12 plus the odd person for a night, for a week. The age group ranged from 56 to 16. We chose this place because it could cater for the age range and provided amusement for all.
Also the gazebo was a great escape for the "oldies" to play cards and talk.
TIP: We took a small bar fridge and set that up in the Gazebo. The teenagers could be in the house to play pool and use the table tennis or chill out in front of "telli" with a DVD to all hours, as they did. We also took our boat which gave us easy access to the Pelican Cafe or a trip into Mandurah. The teenagers also used the boat to go "biscuiting". We could also bring our little dog "cookie" as there is a kennel on the verandah.
Great fun had by all. A good way to bridge that generation gap. Enjoy"

"I have recently had the pleasure to stay at Heron place. As the property is in a cul-de-sac there is no traffic noise to compete with the myriad of wildlife that surrounds this location. Pelicans in the early morning, ducks and the occasional dolphin breaking the surface of the water and of course the ever present native birds that herald the dawn.
The house is perfectly set out with lots of space a very well appointed kitchen and of course all the comforts of home such as TV and Video player etc. Outside there is a BBQ and a Gazebo down by the private jetty.
The property faces west so in the morning you can enjoy an outside breakfast taking in the 180 degree views across the canals and in the afternoon watch the sun go down whilst enjoying a pre-dinner drink.
A very restful stay."

"Had a great stay at Heron Place. Great location. The house is setup so that you dont need a thing, everything is there that you need for a relax. I even caught a feed of crabs from the jetty.
Would recommend this holiday house to anyone looking for a nice getaway or a week of doing nothing but sitting back.
Will be back."
Shane Hearle, Dunsborough WA.

Thanks to the owners for making their house available for others to share. Next time we will try ther kayaks!!"

  • "Our family had a wonderful time at Heron Place. The Kayaks, Pool table and table tennis were a great hit with the kids and the gazebo was a lovely place for a quiet drink for the adults. Would recommend this lovely holiday house to anyone with a group as it caters for all."

  • "We stayed her for 2 nights with 10 of our family & friends for our silver anni, and let me tell you it was the best weekend ever, the house is fantastic, everything there for all to enjoy, the view is to die for and the special visits in the morning from the 2 dolphins was gorgeous, canoeing was fun, as was the pool & tabletennis, having the boat parked out at the jetty at back was a bonus as well, will be back to stay in near future, thanks to Cass & family for allowing us to stay Phil & Risa"

  • "We had a fantastic 4 days at Heron Place. We made one very big mistake - we didn't book for a longer stay. The house was like a home and soooo relaxing with everything you could need or want . There was plenty of room for the 12 of us and we came away with great memories of pool competitions, table tennis games and chocolate fountains. We laughed and laughed and just enjoyed the treasured time together. The private jetty to the house was fantastic and we had enormous fun on the canoes - the neighbours were brilliant too and offered us 2 of theirs. The estuary is full of the most amazing creatures - we saw dolphins, swans, ducks and the very friendly local heron who comes right up to the back door. We would definitely recommend the property and will be back at Heron Place very soon. Thanks Cas from the Scallys, the Kennedys and the Kyriacous of Perth. "

  • "A delightful, spacious, well appointed residence situated in one of the most enviable areas facing the beauiful canal. The private jetty, the waterside pergola with BBQ area all combine to make this an ideal location for a good break away from life in the real world."
    Yolanda & John, July 2010

  • "The house was modern, tidy, well furnished and large enough to cater for 12 adults. The fire kept us warm in the cold weather and when it was warm enough outside we saw 4 dolphins swimming just meters off the private jetty. It was a wonderful break away from the city. We'll be back."

  • "We have just had the most fab weekend at this house. The house has everything! The location was amazing and there wasn't anything that the house did not have. We had 2 great nights and will definitely be making a return visit. Next time we'll visit in summer and make use of the kayaks, boat and water front location."

  • "We came here as we had to attend a wedding. After not much luck with caravan parks and hotels I looked at Heron Place. It looked fantastic on the internet and we had 3 families we were wanting to accommodate and this house had enough room for all of us. We could utilise the games, kayaks, dinghy or just sit and enjoy the location. Would recommend Heron Place to anyone and I'm sure we'll be back for a girls weekend."
    Neil & Therese, March 2010

  • "This property is amazing for a relaxing getaway. Our family had the best time, cayaking, fishing and crabbing, but the best moment had to be when dolphins came to visit. The house is beautiful, lots of activities for all ages including a table tennis table, a pool table, a bar and a large TV/DVD for the kiddies. Our family would highly reccommend a stay at Heron Place, we will be visiting again. Kind Regards, The Needham Family"
