Urban TreeHouse is a design project aimed at creating an amazing space up in the trees...for beautiful lighting, cooling breezes, a refreshing sense of space...and unashamed luxury.
The Master Bedroom, Large Ensuite, WIR and Expansive Balcony create a suite unto itself on the top floor. A spiral staircase with a creative \'ART HOUSE DC\' mural leads up to the polished Blackbutt floors, and spacious bedroom. From there, a cantilevered balcony invites you to open wide, the timber bifold doors and take in the tree-top view. Adjoining the bedroom, you can kick back in the bubbling spa and watch the trees move...even the sun setting at some times of the year.
Downstairs, A gourmet galley kitchen with a living pantry, and equipped appliance area, can assist you to create state-of-the-art feasts to enjoy in the funky meals area or expansive outdoor living.
A Double Sofa Bed is available in the Living Room (fitted with Thermal Block-out blinds on all windows and an open fireplace) to make the house available for up to 6 people. A babies cot is also available.
A large central water feature plays reflective light through the house, and provides cooling breezes from west to east through the louvres.A second guest bedroom is available, and adjacent to the lovely 2nd bathroom with walk-in shower.
In winter, the stainless steel fire set into a stunning \'Dado\' concrete mirror finish wall, can warm up the living room and set the scene for a romantic night in.
Both modern, stylish bathrooms are finished with quality porclaine, honed concrete and quality fixtures. Intended for pampering and refreshing...
Additional to all of this, integrated landscaping, a lovely second bedroom, high raked timber ceilings and expansive glass, all combine to make the most of a fantastic location...just a short walk from town, and a stroll to the river.
The Urban TreeHouse is only 5-10 minutes walk to the town centre, with lots of cafes, galleries, shops and markets some weekends. Strolling in the other direction takes you into a stunning forest within minutes, which is great for hours of walking or riding. A 10 minute drive gets you to famous wineries, breweries, caves, surfing & swimming beaches...
This property is perfect for executive stays, romantic get-aways or 2 couples having a southern break to take in some adventure, wine or both!
The Location
In the beautiful beautiful Margaret River area, this property is located a short walk from town to enable a night out to enjoy a few glasses of wine..and a leisurely stroll home. (or a small taxi fare if you are feeling lazy!)
Just a short drive from many many world class wineries, stunning surf & swimming beaches, unique caves, and lovely waterfalls, central on the cape, with access to everything!
Also just a short walk from the historic \'rails to trails\' walking paths, fantastic mountain bike tracks, stunning karri forests and even a swimming hole in the margaret river...this house can offer a base for any pursuit.
The 'Art House DC' Design Philosophy
As Designer for \'Art House DC\' I was very excited to have the opportunity to do a \'Design / Construct\' of my own, and create a house which was my own idea manifested in every way. Being involved in every possible aspect of the project was exciting and intersting (and challenging!) the whole way through to completion.
My intention was primarily to make a beautiful space to both relax and have fun in.
In response to the lovely site, I wanted to capture the filtered light through the canopy of the trees, and use the existing vegetation to protect the house with shade in summer...though let enough winter sunshine in for a comfortable house year round.
Cooling breeze paths, extended eaves, thermal mass, timber pergola and central water feature all add to this effect.
Natural honest materials prevail throughout, with quality fixtures, fittings and appliances at every opportunity.
Artistically, as it was my own house, I didnt have to pull anything from the plan, and included unique cabinetry detailing, wall murals and styling as my own throughout.
Environmentally, I was also keen to include energy efficient appliances, solar heat pump and integrated landscaping wherever possible.
The \"Living Pantry\" has become favourite feature, with living flavours and aroma\'s at the fingertips of the cook...
