Description

Bush & Bay Cottage is a comfortable, cosy three bedroom house backing onto Jervis Bay National Park making this a popular drop in spot for a local family of kangaroos.

It also represents some of the best value accommodation in the Jervis Bay region - popular with families, and also frequented by couples and groups of friends.

The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps 7 - two large rooms featuring queen size beds, and a third bedroom with a double bunk and a single bed. The additional sofa bed in the living room increases numbers up to 9 in need.

Enjoy the wood combustion heater during the colder months, and the large country style balcony during the warmer months.

The dining table accommodates 6 people and dining bench 4.

The double garage is ideal to for storage of cars, boats, motorbikes, watercraft, bicycles and other valuable items.

You will find additional items such as a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dryer, BBQ, and oil heaters as well as the wood fire.

Unlike many properties, we provide linen and towels and make up the beds for all guest included in the booking price.

We have also just completed a full renovation of our bathroom in 2010 and added a new dishwasher this January.

The Natural Beauty of Jervis Bay and Surrounds

Erowal Bay originated as a small fishing village on the shores of St Georges Basin, and still retains its sleepy charm. The Basin is ideal for fishing, kyaking, sailing and recreational watercraft. The boat ramp is only 800 metres from the cottage.

Enter Booderee National Park 5 kms away and you are officially in the Australian Capital Territory. The Park is stunning with white beaches, walking trails, diving, and offers free tours and activities for park entry holders during school holidays.

4 kms away are the whitest sands of Hyams Beach offering great swimming in the hotter months, and very scenic walking along the shores all year long.

Nearby Vincentia has a BiLo supermarket and Huskisson is the gateway to cafes, restaurants, dolphin and whale watching tours and a very quaint movie theatre.

Great tennis courts (6) are located in the same street and can be hired almost anytime outside of competition on Saturdays.

This area offers some of the best cycling you will ever experienced. Whether it is offroad, or riding with the peleton, bringing your bike is a must.

If you have a road bike you should look up Jervis Bay Triathlon Club and Nowra Velo Club websites for details on rides, races and activities.

  • "We had a great stay here, the location was perfect for the family, Booderee National Park was a gem of a place, so much wildlife and Murray's beach is now my number one beach .. ever. The cottage was in good condition, we appreciated the cleanliness and all the homely contents, simply made it so easy to relax in. This is located in a great quiet spot on the edge of town too (Kanagroo joeys in the front Garden - awww), but close enough for an evening stroll to the lake where we were treated to a glorious sunset. Thanks Geoff and Therese - hopefully be back soon."

  • "We LOVED the cottage! Really felt like a home and absolutely everything that we needed was there. Loved the wood fire, the kids books/DVD's and games. We enjoyed lunches on the verandah and had our breakfast, cooked on the BBQ surrounded by the family of kangaroos. Geoff was really nice and a pleasure to deal with. Even called to make sure we had settled in. We enjoyed the little welcome gift too! Would highly recommend this cottage to others- you will not be disappointed!!"

  • "We spent a week at this little slice of heaven! What a great spot! Everything we needed in the cottage including wonderfully comfortable beds, a coffee machine, complimentary wine, hammock, bbq.... the list is endless. It really is a beautiful part of our lucky country! Geoff and Therese were always prompt in answering my endless questions. Nothing was a problem. There was even a call to my mobile to check everything was OK when we arrived. Highly recommend a stay!"

  • "We enjoyed a WONDERFUL stay at 'Bush and Bay Cottage', swinging in the hammock whilst watching the kangaroos near by and listening to the birds, this was a real home away from home and Geoff and Therese have thought of everything to accomadate their guests, a credit to them and how lovely to be greeted with a bottle of wine to enjoy on the deck whilst watching the sun go down. Highly recommend this beautiful little Cottage and hope to be back again some day, 'til then we have brought ourselves a hammock and can just IMAGINE we are back there.........a treasured Summer memory for our family, THANK YOU Geoff and Therese. Georgia and family Vic"

  • "We did enjoy our stay at Bush & Bay cottage very much. It's a lovely house, very clean and tidy and got everything we need, even have rice cooker and some oil and seasonings. Really considerate. We booked this cottage in a hurry but Geoff did reply messages really fast and gave clear instructions on what to do and not. We loved the cozy Kitchen area and beautiful bedrooms. Feel like home. Also we've seen Kangaroo family in the first day when we arrived. Wonderful experience to watch them in backyard. Thank you, Geoff, We would like to be back again. "

  • "This holiday home is a great place for a stay in the Jervis Bay Area. We visited from London and found the accomodation to be clean and comfortable and were delighted at the kangaroos and wild birds which were frequently seen in the yard and nearby streets. THere is much to do and see in the area. WHen the weather was not kind - raining and hailing - we retreated indoors and enjoyed a wood fire and watching DVDs from the stack provided. There were also a variety of games and all ages were catered for. We found the owner Geoff to be very helpful and hospitable and the entire stay was most enjoyable. I would definately recommend this property."
