Nestled at the foot of the Brokenback mountain range in the tranquil village of Broke is our lovely country cottage - Monkey Place Farm.
The Monkey Place farm cottage is superb with views that will take our breath away. It was originally built as a returned serviceman's grant from the Boer War and as such is just shy of 100 years old. It has had many owners over the years and if the walls could talk I'm sure you would hear some fascinating tales. The farm was once a small dairy but is now a part of Fordwich Estate, a 100 acre working vineyard which has produced several trophy winning wines.

The working vineyard also boasts a 9 hole golf course which was designed and built by Merv Hayward from Cypress Lakes. The course was recently featured in Australian Golf Digest magazine and was titled "a dream backyard" and the course is yours for your private use as a guest.

This magnificent cottage has been newly refurbished with all the creature comforts including ducted air-conditioning and under floor heating. The beautiful kitchen has top of the range modern appliances for ease of use and a décor, which still holds that 'country charm'. It has 2 stylish large comfortable bedrooms and a separate studio bedroom adjacent to the main cottage, a chef's gourmet kitchen/dining room and a lovely lounge area (with a queen sofa bed). The bathroom has a huge bath and shower and there is a separate large utility room with extra toilet.

The lounge room still has the original fireplace intact so enjoy the open fire on those cold evenings in winter. All creature comforts are there including flat screen TV and Austar. A large timber deck wraps itself around all sides of this lovely cottage and overlooks the vineyard with spectacular views, ideal for a leisurely breakfast or a BBQ. Enjoy a game of golf on your own course or just practice your swing. The property even has a cricket pitch for that summer game of cricket.

Monkey Place Farm is perfect for a small family or a group of up 6 guests.

We can provide a chef at the house for special occasions or any sort of catering to suit your needs. We can also arrange wine tours and events and transfers.

Tariff

WEEKEND RATES (2 nights) (Thu-Fri or Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun)
* The nightly weekend rate for up to 2 guests is $325 per night (2 night minimum - see 1 night rates below).
* Extra adult guests are charged at $85 per person per night.
* Children are charge $60 per child (2 years to 13 years).
* Infants under 2 are free.
* A Lazy afternoon checkout may be available at $120 per stay, allowing you to use the property on the day of departure until 5pm. (subject to availability)
* An early check in of 12pm may be available for $50 per stay (subject to availability)

MID WEEK RATES (2 nights)
*Midweek rates are charged at 28% discount off the weekend tariff.

ONE NIGHT WEEKEND or MIDWEEK BOOKINGS
*One night bookings are available. Please contact us for a quote.

WEEKLY RATES AND LONGER STAYS
* Discounts are available on stays of 5 nights and over, please contact us for a quote.

OTHER CHARGES
* A deposit of 50% of the total rate is required by credit card to secure the booking. A $300 holding deposit can hold the property for 14 days if you need to collect payment from other guests.
* The outstanding balance is due 14 days before your arrival date.
* The guest responsible for the booking must register with Events in the Vines, by phoning the office, at least 24hrs before check in, to provide their credit card details, which may be used to cover incidental items such as (but not limited to): telephone charges on the house landline, any breakages or damage incurred during your stay, or cleaning charges in excess of the normal level of cleaning.
* Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas and New Year bookings must be for a minimum of 6 or more guests and are a minimum 3 night stay at full weekend rate.
* Concert weekends must be a minimum of 6 or more guest.
