Description

Perched high on a ridge , Binna Burra Outlook at Lamington is a large house, that has unobstructed panoramic views over rolling hills all the way down to the Pacific Ocean. The unusual volcanic rock formations of Egg Rock, Turtle Rock and Ship's Stern can all be seen from the deck. At night see the sparkling lights of both the Gold Coast and the southern suburbs of Brisbane, the view is so expansive.
The house is situated in a pocket of freehold land that is totally surrounded by the World heritage, Lamington National Park. Well over 100km of walking tracks can be easily accessed from the house. The park vegetation varies from mostly subtropical rain forest containing pockets of ancient antarctic beech trees, to open eucalypt forests and heath land. • "Our extended family of 5 were staying at Binna Burra Outlook in February, 2010 for a week and enjoyed it very much. The Lamington National park is beautiful place, wonderful for trekking and nature watch. We traveled with very young children and grandparents therefore were not up to difficult treks, but there are some easy walks around, roads are good enough for easy drive to locations like Springfield, where you can see waterfalls or O'Reiley's, where you can get on to skywalk among tropical trees. Location might seem somewhat remote, yet it's just an hour drive to the Surfers Paradise and we were going to the beach almost every day. There are very good spots for the paragliding nearby, which makes spectacular views even if you do not take part yourself. The house is remote and sits on the cliff, you can really feel yourself away from everything there, like going to some other world. House is in the forest, it's spacious, kitchen equipment is very good, we had there everything we needed to make our own meals and to make ourself comfortable. The temperature up there at Binna Burra is some 5 degrees lower then at the seaside, which makes night rest very refreshing. We were surprised how good water there was: soft, powerful and hot. The views from the terrace toward the green hills and ocean at the horizon are amazing, we saw lots of rainbows, sunrise mists hanging on the Egg Rock and sunsets setting new light on the rainforest. There were lots of photo opportunities worth of professional eye. Not to mention wild birds coming to the terrace even when people were there. The car is a must there as you need to get down for food supplies also if you want to move around more. The owners are very friendly and took good care of the house and all we might need there before our arrival. It was a pleasure to stay there and a very nice alternative to any urban location. We recommend this place very much and would definitely stay there again if coming back to Australia."
