Description

This open plan treetop retreat is carefully designed and furnished for comfortable open plan living for two. It's private location and position in the treetops makes it unique at Orchid Beach. Kyeema has a large private deck with ocean views and an exceptionally well appointed kitchen with all new appliances. The open plan, almost outdoor bathroom has a bath with a view over Waddy Point.

Location

Orchid Beach is a secluded village in the remote north eastern end of Fraser Island and is the peaceful alternative to the busy southern resort settlements of Kingfisher Bay, Eurong and Happy Valley...no tour buses, day-trippers and minimal beach traffic.

Kyeema was the perfect place for a couple to get totally away from everything and just relax.The house was very comfortable and it captured all the lovely breezes. We enjoyed waking up to the birds and the view. It was like staying in a little tree house. I enjoyed cooking in the kitchen as it was all open. We will be back in the not too distant future.

  • "Only spent 3 nights at Kyeema but wished we had more. Being high up in the trees does make it feel like a tree house. Nice simple design and well furnished, very airy with all the louver windows. Had everything you would ever need. Loved being able to play my ipod. Sitting on the deck is great although for most of the time we were there the weather blew a gale and poured rain. Kyeema felt special and magical and look forward to being able to stay in this wonderful place one day soon. Although be warned that the driveway is very steep and can be a bit slippery on the wood in the wet."

We had never driven on the beach before choosing Kyeema on Orchid Beach for our 4 day escape from the city. We really appreciated the owner's help with our many questions about how to navigate the island as well as the well-appointed accomodation he provided. The "treehouse" is an excellent choice for those wishing to get away from it all and enjoy nature. Thank you, Simon. We hope to be back soon."

The guest information booklet was a well used resource and having been to Fraser 3 times before contained places to see that we hadn't heard about as yet. Great location away from the touristy areas but close to shops and nice beaches. I would recommend this place to any couple who would like time to themselves!!"

  • "Our 6 night stay at Kyeema was just amazing. The design of the house, the location, the views and the tranquility made for a very relaxing holiday. Orchid beach is a wonderful spot from which to enjoy the magic of Fraser Island. We enjoyed a wonderful combination of adventure and peaceful togetherness during our stay. Open plan living with many windows allow the cool breezes, nature sounds and views. We woke each morning to gentle sunrises and views to the bush and ocean right from the pillow! No mobile phone reception or TV was a great bonus - lots of sight seeing, reading and conversation free from distraction. Being regular campers we found our holiday at Kyeema to be a wonderfully luxurious compromise for a last little break before our first baby arrives in December. 8 months into pregnancy I was able to enjoy the comfort that was needed while also enjoying the seclusion & natural setting that we so much enjoy. The owners are very attentive in the information and inclusions they provide for this wonderful holiday house. We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to others. "
