The Mango Tree Complex is located in Shirley St (continuation of Ewingsdale Road once the 50km/hr limit is reached), Byron Bay, the main road connecting Byron Bay to the Pacific Highway. It is within 7 minutes walking distance to Main Beach, town centre, Belongil cafes and Byron Bay markets. This is a major advantage, particularly during holidays when traffic and parking in Byron can be difficult. The townhouses are protected from road noise as they are situated at the back of the complex - the sounds of the sea and birdlife predominate. The townhouses also access a back lane which provides convenient access to the beach - a 3 minute walk - and additional options for parking.
Byron Bay is a national and international icon due to its wonderful weather, beautiful beaches and other natural attractions, its vibrant, friendly lifestyle, and a unique ambience that must be experienced to be understood.
Apart from these general features of Byron Bay, the Mango Tree Complex is also within walking distance of a number of other attractions. The following items are examples.
Access to the beach is via historic tracks through littoral rainforest. Once through the dunes and on the beach, whales and dolphins can often be seen. Surfers are always to be seen! Main beach is a leisurely 10 minutes stroll to the south, while Clark's Beach and the Pass are further along the beach. For the very adventurous - and very fit - the Lighthouse can be accessed from the beach walk by climbing steps through rainforest at the Pass, then walking along Watergos Beach until reaching the steps at the bottom of the Lighthouse Reserve.
The Epicentre was originally constructed to process whales. When this was discontinued, it became the local abattoir. It is currently being re-developed and will include speciality cafes and shops when completed.
Two hundred and fifty metres further along, at Belongil Beach, there are two additional cafes that provide specialist cuisine and are a more serene alternative to those found in the town.
