The house is modern, clean and tidy. The 4 beds are super comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. The bathroom is large with a spa bath and a corner shower. A pool table and table tennis table, fooz ball, air hockey and darts in the large games room will will keep all the family amused for hours. Your 4 legged friend will be secure in the fenced back yard, with kennel or the large shed which also has a large dog bed, feeding bowls, dog toys and towels. In the sunroom you will find board games, books, exercise mats, CD's and DVDs and a 2nd TV if you just feel like chilling out and relaxing. Strahan is located on spectacularly beautiful Macquarie Harbour on the West Coast of Tasmania. The magnificent scenery can be enjoyed from the air, the rivers and lakes, walking tracks, train or car and four-wheel drive. Once an important port exporting gold, silver and other metals, Strahan is now a peaceful holiday and fishing village, the only coastal town of any size along the West Coast of Tasmania. Today sightseeing cruises, along with yachts, kayaks and other pleasure craft, ply it's gleaming tannin-stained waters.
Walk or drive into town (approx 1km), where you will find cafes, restaurants, galleries and craft shops along the quay.
Famous Ocean Beach with its huge expanse of sandy beach and views of the Southern Ocean is only a 5 minute drive away. Walk the dog or photograph the stunning sunsets. Look for platypus in the creeks and also in Peoples Park in town - one of the 60 Great Short Walks.
Located at the top of Esk Road behind the Harbour Cafe is Water Tower Lookout, overlooking Macquarie Harbour. On a clear day you can see all the way to Ocean Beach and the mountains near Zeehan.
Henty Dunes is a series of 30m high sand dunes about 14kms from the Strahan Post Office and well worth a visit.
So too is Montezuma Falls, Tasmania's highest waterfall, just outside of Rosebery.
