There is a large park across the road with tennis court, bike track, skate park and playgound for the kids.

Within those mountains are the world heritage rainforest parks to explore. Whian Whian Forest has the 100 metre Minyon Falls pinic area and 8 Km circuit walk.
Close by is the quaint village of Bangalow with cafes, galleries, antique shops and has one of the best monthly markets. Mullumbimby is the "biggest little town in Australia" and great to wander thru. Onward to Brunswick Heads for fish & chips beside the river. You will find it hard to choose what direction to go from Federal but it is all out there to discover.
