About The House
Built in 2008, the house has been designed to create a lovely, light, airy, welcoming space for families and couples to put in some serious hours relaxing and chilling out enjoying the sunshine and sea air. Reminiscent of the classic Australian Queenslander style pole home, and fully insulated, this house requires minimal heating and cooling, and lets nature do most of the hard work. Air conditioning is available in the main living area and all bedrooms have ceiling fans and electric heaters available in all rooms, so it will be cool or cosy no matter what the weather.
Three of the four bedrooms have been fitted with queen sized beds and have French doors that open onto the verandah. This is perfect to catch the sea breeze and cool down on a hot summer’s night. The kids bedroom has a set of bunk beds, a double foam mattress that can be thrown on the floor and no French doors, ensuring your little ones are safe and sound and won’t be escaping during the night.
The main bedroom has an ensuite, and is located at the opposite end of the house to the other bedrooms to allow for privacy, and enhance the peace and quiet.
A large, modern kitchen is fully equipped with a walk in pantry and all the necessary appliances to allow you to create meals as simple or complex as you feel like. In addition to the microwave, toaster and kettle, the kitchen is equipped with a large crock pot for feeding the hungry tribe.
If cooking inside is not your thing, and you prefer to cook with sea views, there is a hooded gas BBQ located on the west verandah. Of course if cooking is not your thing full stop, meals are available from the Seabird Café.
The living area, kitchen and dining area are open plan, and have been designed so that families can have maximum interaction, ensuring no one gets left out of family banter while they are preparing meals or eating them.
If a luxurious soak in the bath is what you’re after, the main bathroom has a full sized bath and a privacy lock on the door. Champagne anyone?

What to Bring
You will need to bring all your food, drinks, bedding and linen e.g. sheets, pillows and towels. We would also recommend a good book, some games to keep the kids entertained and lots of treats to spoil yourself.
Pets and their humans with lovely manners who know how to behave are welcome. Pets are not allowed on soft furnishings and an additional pet bond will apply.
How to Get There
Seabird is an easy hour’s drive from Perth and if you are leaving from the Joondalup area, you should get there in under an hour. The beauty of Seabird is that once you are there, you will feel like you are miles away from the big city.
Getting there is a piece of cake. Head north up Wanneroo Road, through Yanchep National Park and keep going. 10 Kilometres before the Seabird turn off, you will see signs that point to Moore River/Guilderton on your left.
Turn left into Seabird Road and keep going until you get to the town. As you come into town, on your right you will see the caravan park, then the tavern and then 200 metres down the road you will see the Seabird Café’. Turn left at the café and then take your third left into Larwood Elbow. The Breton Bay beach house is the fourth house on the left.
About the Town
Seabird was officially declared a town in 1967, and thankfully has missed the frantic development that has overtaken more popular destinations like Lancelin, Ledge Point and Moore River/Guilderton.
It is a peaceful, relaxed town and with a local population of 85, it is a guaranteed break from the rat race.
For a small town, there are quite a few facilities to keep energetic families on the go. Of course there is the lovely beach, and local beach fishing usually yields a steady supply of herring, tailor and whiting in the right conditions.
Dolphins are frequent visitors on calm, balmy days, and if you are lucky, you will spot the giant sting ray that sometimes wafts by on a clear day looking for bait scraps, so keep an eye out for her.
The Seabird Café is also a liquor store and does an amazing range of relaxed Australian style cuisine, makes a great cappuccino, and we can recommend their big breakfast. The Café is also a post office and general store, and sells those everyday supplies that may be left behind at the last minute.
Tennis courts can be hired from the local caravan park for a very minimal charge, and there is also a huge well kept town oval and lovely green park, complete with children’s playground and electric BBQ’s within a short walk to the beach.
If you enjoy walking or 4WDing along the coast, you can make your way along the cliff to Guilderton/Moore River, which is 10 kilometres south of Seabird.
Seabird is located in the middle of the Gin Gin tourist region, and there are many attractions within an easy drive. All within an hours drive you can explore local wineries and Olive farms, sample locally produced honey products, canoe the Moore River, explore the universe at the Gin Gin Observatory, taste the delights of local tearooms, cafes and restaurants and yes, you can even find a cuddly koala or two if you are prepared to look hard enough.

Riseborough Estate Winery
Only an hour from Perth, Riseborough Estate is a spacious modern Winery / Cellar Door and Fine Art Gallery built on a hilltop with spectacular views over the valleys of Gingin.
West Coast Honey
The Fewster family have been involved in beekeeping, the process of extracting honey from bees for over 60 years in the Gingin region.
