Description

DESCRIPTION
It’s “The Beach House Meets Bali”, an idyllic oasis across the road from the lagoon and a 2 minute flat walk to the beach. Take the waterfront “short cut” and feed the ducks on the way.

PLEASE NOTE - PROPERTY NOT SUITABLE FOR SCHOOL LEAVERS/HENS/BUCKS NIGHTS/LARGE EVENTS - this is a family property with permanent neighbours. Not for groups under 30 years of age. Not available for parties.

Looking like a beach hut from the front, the inside house opens like a well kept secret leading to a tropical courtyard. A large entertaining deck with shaded awning leads via a wooden walkway to a self contained studio, (pass the outdoor hot shower on the way) perfect for a parents retreat or for a “getaway” for couples with babies.

Surrounded by a canopy of trees featuring an orchestra of birdsong in the mornings, the outdoor hot shower, fans, barbeque and thoughtful decoration make this area the entertaining focus of the house. Private and spacious with the occasional bush turkey and possum strolling through. Reverse cycle airconditioning makes summer cool and winter warm if needed. Maximum of 4 steps in lower part of house with a bedroom access for the elderly.

The “big house” features an open plan design downstairs with a very functional, family oriented kitchen with amenities including dish washer, island bench and gas cooking. Indoor dining table seats 10. There is also a DVD player, double bedroom, laundry and downstairs bathroom. Airconditioned and fans.

Linen is available at $20 per person. (These are supplied and charged to us by a separate operator). Your beds will be made up by our housekeeper prior to arrival for your convenience.

Outdoor hot shower under cover on walkway joining house & studio.

Upstairs is a loft with queen bed and single bed, bathroom and 2separate bedrooms with balconies containg queen beds and a triple low line bunk bed unit. The studio features a sitting area with TV, concealed kitchen, bathroom and queen bedroom.

Two nights minimum stay. 1 hour 20 minutes north of Sydney on the Central Coast between Avoca and MacMasters beaches.

Sorry, no groups aged under 25yrs and strictly NO hens' bucks' parties or major functions. Noise above normal enjoyment is unacceptable as we have permanent neighbours.

The property is continually updated and we have replaced the upstairs bathroom, renewed blinds in upstairs loft and bedroom, repolished the floors, repainted the decks, installed fans in the house and on the balcony, replaced the TV and installed a booster for better TV reception. Installed 2 water tanks for garden and general outdoor use. Added an extra bedroom with queen bed and triple bunks

Queen sized beds throughout, mini kitchen and full sized refrigerator in the studio. Bathrooms upstairs, downstairs and in studio.

Studio and house alarmed and backyard enclosed for children.

Clean car fanatic? Then wash your car in the drive with our tank water - feel good about your carbon footprint!

Location

The Copa shops are experiencing a mini “boom” – there is a new take away, in addition to a bakery, bottle shop, newsagency, hair salon and try the wood fired pizzas from the new owners at "Sirocco" on the corner. "Fubah" is also a great gathering place for food and live music. A new chemist at discount prices is our latest in the "boom". All of this is literally up the road around the bend – a maximum five minute flat walk.

The local mini market also has surf boards for hire. (The house has 3 boogie boards for your convenience).

No car needed here as the property is located on the lagoon side of Copa. The flat walk to Cochrane Lagoon and the surf of Copa or the adjoining beach of MacMaster's are accessed across the road. This area is also sheltered from stiff ocean breezes which means you can cross the road and feed the ducks at sunset in comfort.

Local Attractions

Surfing, swimming in lagoon across road or sheltered rock pools at Copa or MacMasters or simply stroll the sands.

Get fit walking the hill to Copa lookout and read extracts from Captain Cook's logbook on his travels in the area. Watch the whales pass in whale "season" - June/July.

Need a nature fix? The area is surrounded by National Parks - stroll through trails to local beaches, view the ocean from high rock ledges.

By car, lots to see along the coastline, for example, south to Kincumber, have coffee and see the Arboretum at Pearl Beach or just wander tucked away bays.

The hourly ferry service from Ettalong or Wagstaff is bliss for when you need to get out of the sun. Brisbane Waters can also be wandered by small ferries. Rather fun to catch the ferry to Palm Beach from Wagstaff and do a "gal's" spot of shopping.

For the golfers who experience withdrawal symptoms - Gosford and Woy Woy courses will solve the problem and the driving range at Kincumber will give you a quick fix.

Gosford Regional Gallery at West Gosford has great Japanese Gardens, coffee shop and of course, gallery and gift shop. Gallery 460 near Kincumber has a gallery and huge sculpture park definitely worth a visit.

No shortage of restaurants - "Copa Sands" and 5 - 10 mins drive at Avoca and Terrigal. Fisherman's Wharf at Woy Woy is good for seafood and pelican feeding times are worth watching.

Movies at Kincumber. Avoca and Erina Fair. the restored Avoca Theatre is an attraction by itself.

Finally:
National Parks - Walking
Brisbane Waters - Boating
Reptile Park - Somersby
Wildlife Sanctuary - Calga

  • "The whole experience at Copa Beachside was amazing. Such a great property with everything you need for a wonderfully relaxing family holiday. We loved the beachy, funky decor, whilst still keeping a modern and immaculately clean appearance. The garden area/bbq/outdoor shower were fantastic for relaxing after a day at the beach. We will definitely be back next year! Thank you!!"

  • "I would thoroughly recommend the Beach house to anyone with family and a pet. This was the best Long weekend that we have ever had. We also invited my in-laws along and so they had the studio and the rest of us had the house, so we didn't disturb them. Even our dog enjoyed himself, walks to the beach and back home to lay in the cool. Can't wait to go back again."

  • "Great house, kiddie friendly, great for outdoor entertaining also. Heaps of space and handy for the beach. We will be going back - but for longer next time!"

  • "Had a fantastic weekend with our best friends and our beloved dog Bella at this wonderful beachside holiday home. Very well set up by very friendly owners and we loved the personal artwork touches. We spent most of our time on the back verandah & would recommend a relaxing stay here to everyone. • "What a wonderful short holiday we had at Copa Beachside. It's always a challenge to find somewhere that suits a 16, 13 and 10 year old, but Copa was just the ticket with its fantastic location just opposite the beach and a short stroll to the shops and cafes. The owners were super helpful with hints and info about the local area, and the accommodation was ideal."
    Rona, November 2009

  • "Wow, Copa Beachside was fantastic! We retreated to the studio whilst the kids slept in the main house giving us our well earned break. Everything was so close, the lagoon, beach and shops are only a short walk. The house is very well equipped allowing us to cook up lovely feasts night after night. Thoroughly recommend a stay at Copa Beachside."

  • "Our family has stayed for the last few summer holidays and the house just gets better every time. Every day cares slip away as we enter into the Copa Beachside ambience of timber decks, soothing foliage and quirky artworks. As our kids morph into teenagers they still want to holiday with us thanks to the carefree and flexible accomodation that the house offers. Champagne at sunset beside the lake is an absolute must and just a short stagger back to the house!"

  • "Myself & 5 girlfriends celebrated my 50th here & we all want to return every year now ! Lots of space for each in their own comfortable room except for 2 who shared the open-plan mezzanine....suited them though. Sat outside mostly with a (new)home-cooked feast Easy walk to the dog-friendly beach Wish i lived here !"
    Lezli, March 2009
