Examples of comments from "Guest Books" located at the cottages:
"We would recommend the River Red Gum Cottages to anyone wanting a relaxing break with all the comforts of home - we were impressed with the facilities, the thoughtful extras and the spic n span presentation. We took our two, 4 footed friends and it couldn't have been better set up for them-totally secure..." - Jan Waite & Lloyd Haley.
"Excellent accommodation & hospitality - Nothing is forgotten! A real home away from home for everybody & plenty to keep us amused. We will have to stay longer next time...." - The Riedl family.

Response to "Guest Review" left by Denise (May 2007), comment left at Stayz, May 2008.
Thank you for your feedback, we have made a note of it and will look into the situation and see how we can improve the situation.
We regret and have never felt comfortable having to include the guidelines and we have tried to acknowledge that in most cases adults do behave responsibly and do respect our properties and the guidelines are not a reflection of the behaviour of most adults.
Unfortunately, it has been very disappointing for us to come across people who seem to need to have even the most obvious unacceptable behaviour spelt out to them.
One very disappointing example occurred to a set of new timber bedside tables. Within a week of installing them, a group of guests had badly stained them with coffee mug stains, even despite coasters being provided ON the actual bedside tables - the guests just chose not to use them. The only way the timber could be repaired was for it to be sanded down and re coated with lacquer - a very time consuming process.
Another example was to do with smoking indoors. Even though there were signs simply saying "No smoking indoors or outside close to open windows", one lot of guests decided this didn't mean no smoking in the en suite. The action of this guest resulted in our next lot of guests having serious issues, as one was an asthmatic and was allergic to cigarette smoke. After that incident we then had to add a notice explaining exactly what "No smoking indoors" actually means. We felt ridiculous having to write up another more elaborate sign, but we couldn't endanger a future guest due to a former guest's stupidity.
Sadly these are just two examples of a number of examples of some adults not respecting our cottages or the guests who stay after them. We try to maintain our cottages at a high standard for each lot of guests who stay with us. We regret having to include silly guidelines (we know they are silly), but it seems if we don't outline the obvious, there are a small percentage of guests who fail to use common sense and spoil it for the next lot of guests who arrive after them.
Unfortunately this collection of guidelines is the result of poor behaviour by a small number of guests as time has gone by. We do not mean to cause offence with these guidelines, but at the same time we cannot afford to have our next lot of guest's stay diminished due to the previous guest's actions. However we shall still look into the situation and see how we can improve things so as to cause less offence to future guests. 17/06/2008.
