Step back in time as you enter Airlie, a casual and comfortable fibro beach house, just a minute's stroll to the beach.
Relax on the deck with its water views after your morning swim, and at twilight, sit back with a glass of something and admire the spectacular Gerroa sunsets. You might even spot a dolphin or two.
At night, be lulled to sleep by the ever-present sound of the surf as the waves break on the shore.
Airlie is a large, older style house, with a veritable beachy feel. It has quality furnishings, polished floors and rugs.
There are three bedrooms (one with a queen bed, one with a double bed and one with bunk beds. The bunk beds have a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on top). There is also a sunroom with two single beds, perfect for two children.
The open plan lounge, dining and kitchen have river and beach views, as does the deck.
The huge double garage has been fitted out as a kids'/teenagers' pad, with table tennis, coffee table and an old lounge or two to loll about on. The laundry, second shower and lu are also located here. There is also a large yard where the kids can kick a ball.
Pets are not permitted as there is a family of blue tongue lizards in residence, which we are keen to protect. Also the property is not fenced.
Gerroa is a sleepy sea-side hamlet, an easy two hour drive south from the Sydney CBD, and under three hours from Canberra.
It is situated on the northern tip of Seven Mile Beach, about 10 minutes south of Kiama.
The house is located in the old part of Gerroa, with a leafy, hilly outlook to the front, and beach and river views to the rear.
It's a three minute stroll to the quaint shop/post office, and another couple of minutes to a trendy coffee shop/restaurant.
The beach is great for surfing, boogie boarding, swimming, fishing, kiting and endless walking. There are frequent sightings of whales and dolphins.
Nearby are the historic towns of Berry and Jamberoo.
There are tennis courts at Werri Beach (5 mins) and a golf course with views to die for just outside Gerroa (3 mins). There is horse riding at Foxground, 5 minutes south of Gerringong.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you for letting us stay in your lovely beach house on the weekend. We had a great time (the ping pong was a hit especially!). We were lucky with the weather on the weekend and spent most of our time reading and lounging like lizards in the sun.

We had a wonderful stay! The house is very well equipped
and in a great spot! We were really comfortable there. The 4 teenage girls did some surfing lessons which they loved, and the baby slept well so well everyone had a good time! I am sure we'll be back...

Stayed at the Airlie with the whole family who loved how clean & spacious the house is, but most of all, the proximity of the beach to the house. Great views of the ocean (the sound of the waves crashing lulling us to sleep) and a very short walk to the Crooked River & the beach.
Vicki - October 2006
This is a nice cute house with wonderful views to the ocean. Tidy and lots of space for the family.
Monique - November 2006
Although it rained the whole time we were there Airlie has a vast selection of bored games and fun things to do that we barely noticed the weather outside. This is an excellent place that provides for young and old and can be enjoyed Summer, Winter, Rain or Shine.
Leah - October 2006

We had a wonderful stay at Airlie - the house comfortably fitted four adults and four little children. Much time was spent watching the perfect surfing waves from the dining room and enjoying the changing light during the day, culminating in beautiful sunsets.

We had a lovely weekend at Gerroa. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your fabulous beach house. I don't think we have ever been so relaxed. My husband thinks it's because the kids are a bit older but I'm sure it was the fantastic view and Airlie feeling like a home away from home!

We recently stayed at Airlie, 2 nights was not long enough !! We loved the views of the ocean and sat on the verandah for hours. The living/dining area is very spacious and comfortable. We found Airlie very suitable for 3 couples.

What a wonderful holiday house!! The views are absolutely breathtaking and such a short stroll to the beach. We had a fantastic time at Airlie and will be back!! The games in the house were great - my daughter and I are now Battleship champions!! The kids LOVED the house, their beds, the yard - where we played a spot of cricket :) - the beach, the sound of the surf at night, and the ping pong table!! Thankyou for sharing such a lovely home - we had a lovely memorable happy family holiday.

We enjoyed ourselves at Airlie. Thank you! Gerroa is such a lovely spot and the river feeding into the sea is so much fun for our young children - the banks and rock pools are much more visually stimulating than plain old
sand and surf! We spotted one of the blue tongues too!!
Thanks again.
Louise

This house is fantastic. Big, roomy, clean and comfortable. The view is just beyond belief. As the sunsets over the mountains and the pink sky spreads out over the sand my three year old son said "WOW". Thanks heaps.
Jennifer - March 2005
A wonderful '60s beach house with sweeping views, picture windows and that 'at home relaxed' feel. Perfect when you have kids of any age. Very hard to leave and definately will return. We loved the fact that we could arrive early and leave late and take advantage of the long days still in early March.
Helen - December 2004
Thanks so much - we have loved it here. it is a fabulous house in a fabulous spot!
Cheers, Helen, Lyndal and Tom

We (two families with kids ranging in age from 17 to 3) spent a weekend at "Airlie" at Gerroa just south of Kiama and we had a great time. The house was exactly the kind of unpretentious beach house we were looking for - only better equipped and closer to the beach than even the pictures suggested. We walked the beach from Shoalhaven Heads to "home" - not sure if it's seven miles, but it felt like it, we hired canoes from the caravan park and had races on the river, we ate and drank and celebrated four birthdays. We were going to go to Gerringong and Berry but we didn't get there. Nor did we try the club with the best view in
NSW or the cute looking little cafe/restaurant just up the road from Airlie. And the kids didn't get to surf school. So we'll be back.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Anna - December 2004
We had a wonderful time at Airlie, even though the weather wasn't the best. The waves were fabulous for boogie boarding - they took us right up onto the sand! On one of the cloudy days, we walked all the way along the beach to the Shoalhaven River. The beach was so peaceful - hardly a soul on it. The kids loved the table tennis (and so did we!!). Hope to be back again soon. Thanks for everything!!
Vivienne - February 2004
We had a lovely time at Airlie, what a great spot!
Thanks for having us!
Until next time!
Kate - November 2004
We had a really great time in Gerringong/Gerroa over the weekend. I was really surprised with the house's location, I didn't realise it was really THAT close to the beach! Although reading back thru the emails you sent and checking out the photos, I realised I should have been aware of this! We could even see our friends having photos taken on the beach before their wedding in between breaks in the rain!
Having never hired a house before, I found the whole thing quite easy, which was much appreciated.
Thanks again for making it so easy! We hope to be back one day!
Kind Regards,
Kate
