'Merribee' is an historic 1850s architect restored coastal cottage & garden with accommodation for 18-20 people; suited to gatherings of friends and extended families, or a wedding; a perfect synthesis between relaxed country living and the best modern comfort and amenities; set on 3 acres of landscaped grounds with extensive gardens (over 140 rose bushes; kitchen and veggie gardens; topiary and tropical gardens), with tennis court and games room; your own fresh garden produce and gourmet kitchen; only minutes to deserted beaches on Comerong Island and the morning mist in the Shoalhaven River across the paddock.

A converted 80-year old Silo. Top floor is a lookout/living room with 360o views, next floor down is the Master Bedroom, next floor is a luxury bathroom with claw-footed bath and the ground floor is your own private entry. Look down over the dairy farms, the Shoalhaven River, across to the mountain range and towards the ocean. Smell the rosemary and lavender as it wafts up towards you! Staying in The Granary provides some privacy from the main group if required.

'Merribee' is available for short-stays as well as special events and weddings. Mid-week rates available.

FOOD/ENTERTAINING & GARDEN

FOOD/ENTERTAINING Large open-plan gourmet kitchen/dining, huge kitchen table seating 14 for any meal; superior SMEG appliances; and coffee machine. The following items are provided for use during your stay: coffee & tea; pasta sauce & pasta; sugar and flour.

GARDEN, OUTDOOR & ENTERTAINING Huge private courtyard for outdoor dining, with stone fireplace, gas BBQ, dining furniture, deck chairs. Wide wrap-around verandas. Landscaped gardens designed by James Thompson. Parking for 6 cars; Pick lettuces and seasonal vegetables from the garden all year round, collect daily eggs from the chooks.

WEDDINGS & EVENTS

The property offers plenty of options when planning small intimate parties of 8-20 people; functions for groups of 20-40 people; or for larger functions and events catering for up to 180 guests.

You can personalise your event and make it as private or public as you like. (Bride and groom often choose to stay in The Granary.)

The property has a number of in-door and outdoor entertaining areas, along with a gourmet kitchen and pantry.

Catering - you may use a cook from your own party, or have a preferred caterer, but alternatively, we can offer you a superb list of local caterers and food & beverage suppliers.
the gardens - featuring seasonal vegetables, herbs and fruits for the use of guests, along with extensive flowering plants and trees - are designed as a series of outdoor rooms, linked by lawns and granite paths that draw you through and around the grounds.

Equipment suppliers - we have a list of hire companies who can supply marquees, tables, refrigeration, cooking and other items.

Parking - we have room on site and adjacent (with our neighbour's permission ) for over 40 cars.

For your wedding ceremony - use Merribee's gardens, or there are some pretty local churches and halls.
