Shantallow holiday rentals

We brought our teenage children back to Galway for Christmas. The journey from Australia is always long but getting easier as they grow older. The house is magnificent and the hospitality even better. Maire is generous in more ways than one. Her furnishings are the best. Fabulous antiques, well placed and functional. Beautiful sofas, king size beds, crystal champagne glasses and fabulous lamps to illuminate it all. Her bed linen is of the highest quality and plentiful. The location of the house is perfect for a 10 minute stroll into town or 5 minutes to Salthill and the Prom. We will definitely book this house when next in Galway and recommend you do the same. You will not be disappointed.

Sean messaged me advising us his mobile number and asking what our arrival time! I replied to his mobile number advising approximate time and may we have the exact address. An hour + later no reply from him. So I called- he asked where we were parked. Met us and told us where to park and walked us thru the apartment. Next day I messaged asking for another pillow for the bed, no reply. The apartment was bare bones minimum it was clean but no little extras to enhance the stay. Would not recommend this apartment- it was class to town centre and Salthill village these were a bonus.

This is the 2nd time we stayed in Shane's apartment, and we will hopefully stay again when and if we are back in Galway. Location is perfect - just across the road from the best music pub in Galwy (The Crane Bar) and above one of the best restaurants in the city (the Mona Lisa). It's in the West End, which is still very close to the centre, but a bit less hectic. And the apartment itself is very quite, being in the back of the building. Very fast internet (I measured 75 MB/s download). There is no on-site parking, but Shane provides visitor parking permits that allow street parking close by. Thank you Shane (again) for a great stay.
