This property was gorgeous and generously appointed. The bedroom was lux, with plenty of wardrobe space. Living areas were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed.
The owner provided a beautiful platter and beer and wine to get us started and the pantry had all the basics, plus the makings of breakfast for a couple of days. Very generous.
The garden courtyard, pool and sitting areas were great. It's a very green location with plenty of birdlife and cows visiting the paddock next door.
The sunset view over the ocean each evening was a delight.
This let included a small car to get around in, which was brilliant because the property is peacefully out of town.
The house was perfect. The website photos don’t do justice to how open, airy and relaxing the venue is. There are two huge opening doors from the kitchen and living areas that open the whole house up to the covered verandah, so we effectively lived outside for the week. It was perfect.
Our host was brilliant. Welcoming and informative, we received all the local tips on arrival.
The house is perfectly located minutes from the heritage precinct, as well as just down the hill from the township. (Not that anything is far away on Norfolk!) Because of this and because the museum passes cover the whole stay, we were able to do a little bit of the Kingston precinct each and every day, rather than try to see the whole lot at once. This was perfect for two boys with the attention span of gnats.
The outdoor shower was perfect for post Emily Bay snorkelling (insider tip- wait til low tide and the coral is that much closer. We got the insider tip from the house guest book where previous guests have given their top ideas from their stay. It’s well worth the read at the start of the holiday!)
The kitchen was great but the BBQ was greater. The evening aperitif walk across to the watermill (another insider tip) was another daily highlight.
We so enjoyed our 2 week stay at the Regal Hibiscus. The property was so neat and clean and had everything required for a great stay. The washing machine was handy and being situated Close to town and shops was convenient. The esky and ice packs were great and we used it every day for our picnic lunches. The property manager Hana is wonderful. She greeted us at the property and made sure we had everything we needed. Whenever she came by to clean rooms etc.she would pop in if we were there and check to see there were no issues. Would highly recommend a stay at the Regal Hibiscus.
Haydanblair House gave us a unique experience never to be forgotten. Situated in the peace and quiet on acreage in Burnt Pine, the house is a credit to the owner and gave us 3 senior couples a holiday in February 2019 that we will remember for a long time. The accommodation and facilities are more than adequate, which gave us a relaxed feel from the moment we stepped in the front door. Talk about a home away from home, we would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing for a relaxing and enjoyable stay on Norfolk Island. In addition, we were particularly impressed with the help given to us by Brett, who made himself available to accommodate our needs.
The property overlooks the ocean and on the other side the hills roll on forever. You need a car but can walk to one of the best beaches I have ever seen and swam in. An idyllic location. Best host I have ever met. Supplied s mobile phone on arrival, organised a car which was dropped off at the front door.
Not as glamorous as anticipated. But convenient and friendly. Bananas were a welcome bonus. A makeover with a lick of paint and some nice bedding would improve it greatly. First car was dodgy but fortunately it was replaced with a better one. However would stay there again even though a little overpriced
