Very comfortable and lots to do around The Catlins

Melanie and Karl’s house is very comfortable with beautiful views over the green countryside and Catlins Lake. It was so tranquil. Loved watching the cattle, horse, chickens and sheep go about their daily routines - not much happens, but a lot of socialising

Compact but very comfy living space with large outdoor area with bbq. 20 mins stroll by the sea to the local pub with very good eatery. Good tramping to be had in the vicinity. Sea Lions on the beach. Nice Teo nights stay. Enjoyed this quirky spot.

We had a lovely few days using this as our base to explore the area. The house was comfortable and well equipped. The washing machine as mentioned is problematic. We ended up hand washing and just using the spinner. The owner was very responsive to our questions. Would recommend.

Authentic crib, with all the old nostalgic trappings one expects in a crib. Weather was ferocious with a bitter southerly blowing as it does in Pounawea, but we kept warm and well fed with the facilities provided. Ran to cousin's farm at Kaihiku to grab firewood before discovering the stash in the back of the shed the next day! Very pleasant stay, wishing now we had booked for a week.
