This very comfortable and attractive property is totally ski in ski out. We cannot recommend it enough. The owners were quick to reply to any questions we had. The house is very well equipped with more than enough kitchen equipment for us to cook every evening and a fabulous laundry on site. The Hot tub overlooking the run each evening is a must for all those tired muscles too. Will definitely book again!
This chalet is fantastic on all levels! The layout is very family friendly and easily accommodated our group of 12.We had 80 year old grandparents, two couples, 4 x teens and one solo adult, and a 2 year old!All the bedrooms are extremely comfortable with big beds and high quality linen. The two bedroom apartment downstairs accommodated one of the couples who needed some space of their own and provided privacy while still being part of our combined holiday. there is a separate kitchen and laundry facilities int he apartment. The main house has an excellent kitchen with all the appliances and cooking implements you will need, the coffee bar supplies were great and kept us going for the whole trip. There is a separate TV / Lounge room which was great for the kids and a playroom for our 2 year old who wasn't out skiing as much as the rest of us.The garage is set up with boot warmer, plenty of hanging for gear and seats for getting ready plus tools for clearing snow off cars and pathways if required. We loved the location, It is ski in for intermediate levels, ski out is a walk up the end of the street. Being slightly out of the village suited us as it is a very pleasant flat walk. The chalet is private and quiet, no one walking or skiing past when enjoying the big hot tub out the back.Behind the house is an area that you can walk up and enjoy playing in the snow or go snow shoeing. All in all, I highly recommend and can't wait to return!
this is a lovely place to stay and enjoy all Sunpeaks has to offer, I stayed for 9 weeks, and there is plenty of room for friends to stay. the spice drawer is fully stocked, and plenty of the basics, this is highly recommended!
We came to SunPeaks as a multi generational family group - grandma, multiple adults and 3 young kids.
The house is great for a big group. Loss of sleeping spaces, huge dining table and a huge kitchen which was the best equipped I have seen. There is a basement unit which wasn’t clear on the posting and the driveway and backyard are shared - separate hot tubs though. There’s a big double garage and large mud room with plenty of room for ski gear. There are even some toboggans provided for use.
Brad was a very responsive host. I messaged that the rubbing from previous guests was left in the garage and he immediately arranged for it to be picked up. The neighbours are quick to complain and there are many warning signs about not making noise or using the spa after 10pm - not really an issue for us, though they did complain about my kids playing in the backyard lest they disturb some bulbs they had planted.
The chalet is listed as ski in ski out - but it could only be classed that way for an expert skier. The ‘ski in’ is a very steep narrow path between houses and the ‘ski out’ required a bit of a trudge uphill to the end of the street lugging all the ski gear before you could ski down to the main lodge -pretty flat ground so not an easy ski. We ended up needing to drive most days with kids and grandma as just a bit too far to walk.
Overall a great house and great host.
The house provided a wonderful base for our month long stay in Sun Peaks. Ample space for 2 families, very comfortable living area and a well stocked kitchen. There was also a great space to store all the snow gear and to get ready in each morning. The location is perfect for easy access to the sunburst and sundance chairs and is just a short stroll to the village. The only negative was a miscommunication with the owner after we had departed, however, this was quickly rectified.
A great base for a winter stay in Sun Peaks!
Gentle Giant Chalet in Sun Peaks is in a fantastic ski in/ski out position and is very convenient for access to the village. Plenty of room for 8 adults. If you have any questions re the property the owners and also the property manager are very helpful and fast to respond. We would definitely book Gentle Giant Chalet again when we next visit from Australia to ski at our favorite ski resort in BC.
We stayed in the Village Walk for 15 nights. The property was big and spacious, and only around 5 minutes walk to the village, and 10 minutes walk to Orient/Morrisey chair lifts. The kitchen was clean, well set out with high end appliances and armed with every utensil known to man. The living area on the second floor was open with a dining table that comfortably sat 8 to 10. At the opposite end there was a sunken lounge room with very comfortable sofa and wide screen TV with Netflix, Prime and not doubt other streaming services available. There is bedroom on the ground floor equiped with playstation. The bedrooms were large and well appointed. The 3.5 bathrooms were clean, spacious and stocked with luxury soaps and shampoo. The host was very responsive to our questions which made the holiday that much easier. If the opportunity arose to holiday in Sun Peaks again we would love to stay at Village Walk.
