First time visiting Corfu
We just had a week at Villa Amaryllis, and we are already talking about returning next year.
The villa is about 15 minutes from the airport, just off the main road. A taxi will cost you about 30 euros. The bus stops on the main road at the entrance to the villa road.
There is a small Proton supermarket within walking distance and several others a short drive away.
I would recommend hiring a car. Beaches to the east and west are approx a 30-minute drive.
The views are amazing. Although there are a few other villas nearby, you are not overlooked and the outside areas are completely private.
It's on 3 levels. The lower ground floor really is more like a self-contained flat. All rooms have outside terrace areas. The kitchen has everything you need. The beds are very comfortable.
It's very clean. Towels and bedding were changed once during our week stay.
It really is the outside space that makes this villa. The pool is great with a sun trap and loungers at the back. There is a barbecue and outside dining area under an olive tree near the pool, and another table with chairs on a terrace next to the living room. Downstairs is a ping-pong table and covered terrace area.
Spyros is a great host. There is a welcome basket with some provisions. He provided us with recommendations of places to eat and areas to visit.
Plugins for the mosquitos are provided and the local supermarkets/ chemists sell sprays etc. You will need them!
Corfu itself is amazing. We will definitely return.
