Château du Pommoy - Chateau in the Morvan

This comfortably furnished castle is in a beautiful, easily accessible and peaceful location in the Le Morvan regional nature park in France. A wonderful place for a great holiday, about 700 km from Utrecht and about 3 hours from Paris.

The chateau with its spacious garden can be rented in its entirety per week during the holidays, for families or groups of up to 20 people. From June 2020 you can also enjoy our completely renovated swimming pool. You can also reserve individual rooms outside the high season.

We also offer complete packages and courses, such as French courses, mindfulness, photography and chamber music. And for the sporty holiday maker hiking and cycling packages.

The castle is in a beautiful location with a free location and views over the surrounding landscape. It is a historic, stately building and very comfortable. With a larger group (of up to 20 people) there is also plenty of room and freedom, so that you can really enjoy the holiday.

On the ground floor you have access to two lounges, a dining room, a well-equipped kitchen with all possibilities for tasty and healthy cooking and a handy separate rinse kitchen. There are several seats in the large salon, so that you can be together, but also read a book in peace. Of course there is free WiFi.

Via the French stairs you reach the first and second floor with a total of three suites and four rooms, all with a bathroom and each with a beautiful view!

With its location in the Le Morvan Regional Natural Park, Château du Pommoy is the ideal place for a longer stay: peace, clean air, nature and comfortable rooms. During the day it is nice to stay in the sun or shade and in warm weather a fresh dip in the swimming pool is easily made. With clear skies, it is at night for lovers of a glance at the starry sky. Even the Milky Way is visible!

In the beautiful nature it is fantastic walking, cycling or water sports. The château is close to famous hiking routes such as Grande Randonnée "Tour du Morvan" and the Gorges de la Canche with waterfalls. Sporty touring cyclists can indulge themselves on the spicy slopes in the hilly landscape. Water lover? On the Lac de Pannecière and Lac des Settons reservoirs you can swim, sail, pedal boat and canoe, among other things. Those who love wilder water can go rafting on the Cure and Chalaux.

Culture lovers will also be in their element here. Le Pommoy is centrally located to major attractions. The historic town of Autun is only a 15-minute drive away. The excavation of the Gallo-Roman settlement Bibracte with museum is also very interesting. Here the real Vergincetorix fought and Julius Caesar worked on his book about the Gallic war!

The pilgrimage town of Vézélay with its cathedral and fantastic views from the city wall is particularly picturesque.

If you enjoy culinary delights, you will love to visit Saulieu, with the famous star restaurant of Bernard Loiseau.

The beautiful city of Beaune is also perfect for a day trip.

And for wine lovers, the route des grands crus with millions of vines and many wine tastings is not to be missed!
