Portomeñe´s House, situated at Surribas place (Adá-Chantada), next to Monte Faro, is a very interesting example of Big Galician House.
This house keeps the original structure with two “inner corrals”, the furnace to cook the bread as well, the forge to work the iron, the “hórreo” to dry the maize grain and a big barn. His ballast in stone conserves all the enchantment of older times, when the bread, the wheat and the barley were beaten.
This place house counts with ten confortable and spacious rooms. The house is surrounded by a stone wall that allows to enjoy the unique tranquillity of the Galician villages. Having Romanesque a decisive importance in the country and being the Sacred Ribeira the maximum Galician exponent with routes like the Romanesuque of the Miño and the Sil, we have in Portomeñe´s House an essential point to enjoy the history of this part of Galicia.
