About this property

ALMOST NEW! HIKER'S CABIN in West Glacier

This new 1110 sq foot log cabin sits in a perfect location. Out the back door is the Glacier View Golf Course and out the front door the Middle Fork of the Flathead River which offers excellent trout fishing. We are in West Glacier which provides the best access to all of the corners of Glacier National Park; including the famous "Going to the Sun Highway", the Alaska-like North Fork Road, and the backcountry roads into the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

After a busy day hiking, rafting, fishing, or exploring the Park you will love coming back to this cozy home. The cabin is constructed with solid blue pine logs and post and beam craftsmanship. In the great room, there is a cathedral ceiling and wood stove. A loft adds space for kids to play or watch television on the flat-screen TV. Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and cherry cabinets in the kitchen provide a great setting for baking a huckleberry pie!

The elegant yet rustic interior has hardwood floors and reclaimed wood stairway. There is a Queen bedroom upstairs with half bath and a loft area with a full futon to sleep two more. Downstairs is a Queen bedroom with a full bathroom. There are a washer and dryer on the main floor, as well.

Relax on the timber frame covered front porch with a beverage after a long day of hiking or barbecue in the back yard.

There are a ukulele and a classical guitar (if the strings are still intact :))

There are MANY different activities in this area and as parents, hikers, bikers, fishermen and river runners we are happy to share our knowledge! Don't hesitate to contact us if the calendar is booked--we may have blocked dates for ourselves or friends.

Very clean. Great location so close to the park entrance. Very comfortable and quiet. We did walk down to the river, but the path was a bit overgrown.

This cabin is perfectly located to explore the West Glacier side of GNP. It was homey, very clean and well stocked. Appreciated the box fans too - not something you find in most VRBOs. Communication with the owner was great too.

This cabin was the best place to relax after a long day in the park. In fact, my children wanted to spend all the vacation at the cabin. It has a great location for park access! It was super clean and had all amenities anyone could imagine including a guitar and a ukulele! There is also a nice grill and fire pit to gather around and spend time discussing the next park adventure or reliving the days incredible experiences and building those quality family memories! I can’t say enough good things about this cabin. Can’t wait to come back here again!

Glacier

What a convenient place to stay, minutes from West entrance to Glacier, and west glacier village. After staying here we went to east Glacier and many times missed our stay here. Everything you need is there. Washer and dryer huge plus. Just a very comfortable stay.

Perfect stay, great location!

Loved our stay at Hiker’s Cabin! Our cabin was meticulously clean, had an awesome shower/jacuzzi tub, soft luxurious towels, firm beds, perfect pillows and was spacious for the three of us. It was so close to GNP and was a wonderful respite to come home to after long days of hiking. Loved the front porch and back yard. I would highly recommend cabin 664 to anyone looking for a stay just outside of West Glacier. Thanks for the memories!

Fantastic!

This is a superb house! The location is absolutely fabulous right at the entrance of Glacier NP and 2 minutes from the stores in West Glacier. Mona and Mike have done a great job on the inside of the house making everything up to date and comfortable (even DirecTv and internet). It slept my wife , myself and 3 boys (ages 16,13,10) very comfortably. I recommend it very highly! We hope to come back again!

West Glacier Heaven

My husband & I immensely enjoyed our stay at the Hikers Cabin. I have food allergies and wanted a place where I could cook my own food and the kitchen was fully equipped. The cabin was spotless as well as the front porch where we relaxed each evening after a day of hiking. We were pleasantly surprised that the cabin was literally 5 minutes from the West Glacier NP entrance and far enough away from the hustle & bustle of the West entrance crowds. Thank you Mona & Michael for a pleasant stay at your cabin and for your quick replies to my email questions before the trip!

Another Perfect Stay at the Hiker’s Cabin!

We snuggled in this cozy cabin for a week after the Christmas holiday. Winter in Glacier is such a special time and a visit to this cabin is no exception. We were so stocked with wood and kindling, we had a roaring fire every day of our visit. Everything about this spot was perfect. The house has a stocked kitchen and plenty of space to spread out. Though it was just the two of us, we could have brought our whole family, with three sleeping areas and plenty of room. We loved watching the “Thin Man” series on Turner Classic Movies on a snowy New Year’s Eve on the great TV system in the upstairs loft. A fun memory for years to come! The location is quiet and serene with the Middle Fork of the Flathead just across the street. We enjoyed walks on the roads of the neighborhood by the river as well as adventures into nearby Glacier Park and the snowshoe and cross country trails near the historic Issac Walton Inn. There is also a fantastic cross country ski trail on the golf course. The best part of every day was returning to our cozy cabin. We simply cannot wait to return again next year! Thank you, Mona, for another fantastic stay.

Close to Glacier park, little more than walking distance and away from main traffic. Took me a bit to figure out how to optimize the temperature inside on hot days and some of the rooms stay warm (AC didn’t reach). But once I figured it out, it was good. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We LOVED our stay at this beautiful cabin. One of the most organized and generously stocked stays!!Its proximity to park and groceries is incredible! The hosts are very responsive and everything we needed was already provided. All kitchen utensils, soaps of all kind AND ironing board provided as well.We made our first bonfire, S'mores, and built lifelong memories with our kid and watched milky ways in the sky afterwards. We really felt home at this cabin and felt love in it!! Thank you Mona & Family for opening your cabin to welcome us. If this cabin is available, JUST RENT IT!!

About the host

Host profile image
Owners Mike and Mona are from Montana and Alaska. After 10 years in Alaska we wanted a cabin in an area similar to "The Last Frontier"..but better weather!

As avid hikers the North Fork Road towards Canada is almost identical to the Alaska interior-glaciated streams, grizzly bears, rugged peaks, and bad roads!

Why they chose this property

Mona is a wild berry nut and Mike spends as much free time as possible testing new fishing areas.

Huckleberries are found by mid July- as well as thimble berries, service berries, chokecherries, and many others.

The fishing can be excellent. Although most people travel to Montana for the trout fishing (which is walking distance); within 30 minutes of the cabin you can find bass, huge pike, lake trout, and pan fish.
Golfing is relatively inexpensive here- you can walk to the club house. In the summer you can buy a drink and basic dinner food at the club house for a very reasonable price.

What makes this property unique

There are only a handful of properties like this one. Our place is new, rustic, classy, and what you hope for in a place like Montana. Although we are in West Glacier, we are a mile from the noise of the train and highway.
