Unique, lodging in a one of a kind house built with two 20ft shipping containers. This house combines industrial, modern and alternative architecture joined with a traditional mexican palapa roof. Insulated with 3.5 inches of closed cell foam and painted with ceramic paint devolved by NASA for the space shuttle, the temperature in the bedrooms is very comfortable.
Each container also has air conditioning.

The house is a 10 minute walk to the ocean and kite launches and offers breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez. Enjoy watching sunrise and moonrise over the ocean from your bed or cook dinner while staring out of the glass wall/windows overlooking the ocean.
The containers are the bedrooms and the 18x24' in the middle is covered with a large palapa roof to make up the living space, kitchen. and bathroom.
The house is near beaches for kiteboarding, kayaking, fishing, SUP and snorkeling. Local trails offer access for motorsport and mountain biking. Walking distance to great restaurants and coffee shop.
Futon in living room folds out to accommodate additional guest or children.

About the host
Hosted by Dustin Huff

I am a family man who works hard and needs a vacation. Sometimes I bring my kids :) I grew up in Tahoe and moved away several times but always came back. I met my wife when I was 20 but it took 14 years to convince her to marry me. We have two amazing kids who are now being raised in Tahoe but get to live in Mexico too. One day they will know how lucky they are.
Why they chose this property
My 2 friends, Aaron, Joe and I bought this property so we can own a slice of the Sea of Cortez. We bring our families down when the snow is to deep in Tahoe and we need some sun and surf. The house is on a fenced acre and in the perfect area for a quiet getaway but if you want drinks and food then its a short walk to great restaurants.
What makes this property unique
We built this house with shipping containers for several reasons. One being it's economical and another environmental. But honestly, the first reason was we needed storage for our toys. We bought the land and would sleep in a tent while we were here. We bought a shipping container to put our kite boarding gear, kayaks and fishing poles in. One of us thought it might make for a good house too. House sits on a fenced acre and has beautiful landscaping. Tall Palapa roof and sliding glass doors makes living room and kitchen spacious and cool. Front deck and living room are seamless. The two Container bedrooms are quiet, separate from the living area but still connected. Perfect for two couples or family with older children.
