Redbird in November
My family and I enjoyed a lovely stay at Redbird during our mid-November trip to Maine. The house has a very nice layout and we always enjoyed coming back home to Redbird after a long day out exploring Acadia National Park. Tracey was fantastic and communicated perfectly with us. We had an issue with the heat not working the first night of our stay. After letting Tracey know, she was quick to respond and had some over very soon after to fix, Rich the caretaker of the house stopped by as well to meet us and help with anything we needed. We made wonderful memories on our trip, and staying at Redbird was a real treat for us!
This is a great base of operations from which to explore Maine. All six of us Texans thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. What a great kitchen, and the house is so spacious!
This home is perfect. The location is great for walking to the harbor, all the shops, restaurants in town. Definitely wouldn’t stay in Bar Harbor as it is so crowded & this home is a short drive to all the local attractions. This home has a perfect layout for a family or group. Everyone has privacy. The kitchen, living room and bar area is perfect for time together. This home is stocked with everything you need, perfectly decorated and beautiful view of the harbor. The construction next door was not disruptive at all for us. Tracey and Rich were immediately available for questions we had on the lights. The local food is spectacular! Never enough lobster! We took the local harbor boat ride over to Little Cranberry Island, the guide was very informative about the areas history. Arcadia Park is beautiful but was crowded even in October, the leaves were changing. I recommend driving to the “quite side” route (102) to southwest harbor it’s very beautiful at the sea wall. We hope to make another trip next year!!
2 night stay
Overall, great place to stay and wonderful property manager. Construction next door was a bit more intense than anticipated.
Great place for family group
We had 9 family members aged 1 to 95. All had very comfortable sleeping arrangements and bathroom access. It was a great space for us. Outstanding common space, including kitchen, bar, rec room and multiple dining/sitting areas--plus more outdoors. Very convenient location for accessing Mt. Desert. Only downside for some may be that the location is not as quiet as many other options
Redbird is located in the quaint village of Northeast Harbor in the heart of Acadia National Park. Much quieter than Bar Harbor, NEH offers entry to Acadia in less than 10 minutes in all directions. Access to hiking and biking via car or the free Island Explorer bus service, in season, from June-mid October is nearby. You can access the outer islands by the charming ferry system or take a nature cruise or sunset cruise just steps from the house. Main Street is also two minutes away by foot and you can shop and eat and explore the little village. during the off season, the town is quiet but Redbird is year round and nothing compares with seeing Acadia in the snow. Cross country skis can be rented at Brown's Hardware and several trails are groomed. Having the park to yourself as you swoosh along is a simple pleasure!
