An outstanding property with shared pool (5 x 11 m) situated in a quiet picturesque hilltop hamlet, they both benefit from a very private and peaceful location. The properties are located in the Périgord pourpre, near friendly medieval towns and Bastides of Beaumont du Périgord, Monpazier, Cadouin, Issigeac and Belvès to name only a few. As well as medieval castles such as Château Lanquais, Château de Biron, Château Les Milandes and Château de Monbazillac.
The area is well known for its gastronomic delights, vineyards, outstanding natural beauty and architectural heritage.
Local specialities include duck based products (foie gras, confit, magret), walnuts (walnut wine, jam, oil, cakes), chestnuts, truffles, cheeses (cabecou) and cepes. The vineyards of Bergerac are also an easy reach for a day out of wine tasting.
The nearby Dordogne and Vézère rivers (aprox. 15 min away) offers you many leisure activities such as swimming, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing or simply sunbathing on one of their many sand and pebble beaches.
Day trips to underground grottos and prehistoric caves such as Lascaux are a must do and easy to get to.
The region also has many trails and country footpaths for trekking enthusiasts.

La Petite Maison : 1 bedroom, 1 shower room, garden and pool - accommodates 2 guests , a portable bed can be added in the bedroom for a child or small adult .

A charming cottage all on one floor with ample space for two guests with a total surface of about 60 square meters.
The property is renovated in traditional french style with red tilled floors (tomettes) and exposed beams.
It has a fully equipped separate kitchen including a fridge freezer , dish-washer, electric oven and vitroceramic cooker, coffee machine, kettle, cookware, utensils and tableware.
The living room is furnished with a 3 seater leather sofa, coffee table, dining table, side board, wood burner. The cottage has English and french television, DVD player, free WiFi, books and a small DVD library.
The cottage has a large double bedroom equipped with a chest of drawers, bed side table and an electric fan.
The shower room benefits from a large shower cubicle, hand wash basin, towel rail, hair dryer, washing machine and WC.
The cottage has its own private garden and patio area with outdoor furniture and BBQ. It has its own access to the shared pool (5 x 11 meters). 
Bedding and towels are provided for 2 people.
Pool towels , deck chairs and sun-loungers are also provided.

Impeccable in the countryside

An impeccable cottage in a very quiet and peaceful country setting. Richard, the host is very very amiable and helpful, presenting an excellent cottage for your stay. Plenty of room, privacy and a garden to relax in or a nice log fire if the weather says otherwise.

It is hard to really summarize the amazing time we had in this beautiful stay. Richard is truly a super host that takes care of every little detail. We were welcomed with a beautiful home made walnut cake made with walnuts from his own orchard. The Gite was very clean and equipped with everything one would need. The swimming pool is truly a wonderful retreat after a nice warm day in the Dordogne. We would definitely come back. 5 stars all around

Idyllic getaway in Périgord

Les Maisons de Cor is a beautifully landscaped property in Périgord Pourpre ("purple Périgord") with a delightful pool, all the right amenities, and a very welcoming owner. There are also friendly dogs, cats, and horses (2 of each) on the property, which may be of interest, especially if you have kids. Richard does everything he can to ensure that you have a pleasant stay. There are plenty of charming villages and castles to see in the area, too. Personally, I was happiest out in the back garden with a book in one hand and a cool drink in the other, soaking up the sun and listening to the birds sing away.

Un séjour extra dans cette région magnifique, un logement tres bien équipé en intérieur et extérieur (transat, table et chaises dehors), literie neuve et un hôte aux petits soins. Logement spacieux, et le plus très apprécié : lit fait à notre arrivée et linge de bain fourni de très bonne qualité. Prachtige omgeving dichtbij de wijnstreek Bergerac en historische dorpjes.

Heerlijke woning met een eigen keuken voorzien van een vaatwasser/fornuis-oven/grote koelkast. Goede douche/toilet/wasmachine. Leuke kamer met TV(Engels-Frans)/tweepersoonsbank/eettafel met 4 stoelen. Ruime slaapkamer met tweepersooonskamer en kledingkasten. Buiten een tafel met 4 stoelen. 2 relaxstoelen en 2 ligstoelen staan het gras. Daarnaast is er nog een lekker zwembad waarin je lekker kunt afkoelen.

Un petit paradis

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable malgré la météo un peu boudeuse! Richard est un hôte charmant et très accueillant ! L endroit est quelque peu paradisiaque ! Loin du bruit, du stress…Parfait pour se ressourcer et se reposer, tout en ayant l’occasion de visiter la région !

Merci à Richard pour son accueil chaleureux avec des petites attentions (très bonne gelée) bien situé le gîte est joli et bien entretenu, un petit coin de paradis, un beau paysage depuis la terrasse, des brebis, de la verdure et du calme. Même si le temps n'était pas de la partie, le changement d'air nous a fait un bien fou ! Nous recommandons fortement ce gite.

Perfect relaxed week in a beautiful location

We loved everything about our stay at Les Cor: the gorgeous relaxing location, the lovely petite maison, the pool and outside space, the farm and sheep next door and of course our fantastic host Richard. On arrival we had home made fruit jellies and walnut cake and had a regular supply of home grown peaches and figs. The only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer. The fact that we have already booked our stay for next year says it all. Thank you Richard.

A very comfortable stay in the most tranquil location near Saint Avit Seneur Dordogne

Thank you, to our host Richard who provided us with a wonderful warm welcome, some lovely home made jam and a bottle of local wine. We had a very comfortable long week stay in the smaller of the two gites which was comfortably furnished with a well equipped kitchen and ideal for a couple. The location was perfect for us, quiet, off the beaten track with glorious views. The gardens are lovely and also the swimming pool a real bonus on those hot days. We hired bicycles which was a great way to get around but you need to be fairly fit for the return journey to the property but once off the promontory its an ideal way to travel to local places. We would certainly return and potentially hire the two gites for our wider family. Thnaks again Richard for your kind hospitality!

Een zeer ruime en modern ingerichte woning, van alle gemakken voorzien. De omgeving is prachtig en doodstil, en het gehucht bevindt zich aan het eind van een doodlopende weg. Having worked all of my life in the UK with horses I was lucky enough to be able to make the move to this beautiful area of South West France . Originally from Leicester, I arrived with 3 old horses 2 dogs and a cat , unfortunately the horses are no longer with me but the dogs and cat are . Life here is a lot slower although looking after my property stops me from being idle . I have wanted to make the move here for many years and at the moment have no regrets although I can't say it has been completely stress free . I feel very at home here and have no desires to return to the UK in the immediate future .
