About this property

Gem in Town of Telluride

Our home is located on Columbia Avenue, one block from Telluride’s iconic Main Street and an easy walk to the Gondola (5 minutes) for ski access in winter or to Telluride’s stunning trails for hiking in summer. “Modern mountain industrial” in design, the house is upside down, with the living, dining, kitchen, and two deck areas at the top, enjoying stunning 270-degree views of the box canyon; two bedrooms on the entry level; and below, a media/pool table area, and a suite with two bedrooms, one a four-person bunk room, and adjoining bath area. We only rent when we travel so the booking windows are rare.

Here are the details: the house sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms: two queen beds, one king that is convertible to two twins, and a four-person bunk room, 3 full bathrooms and 2 half-baths; approximately 3000 square feet on 3 levels of living space.

The upper level of the home consists of the main living and dining area. With huge vaulted ceilings, wood beams and wide-plank oak floors, this open space is perfect for après ski gatherings, or a barbecue on the spacious deck with box canyon views in all three directions -- to the north toward Tomboy and the Jud Weibe Trail, to the east toward Ajax Mountain, and to the south toward Bear Creek and the ski mountain -- and a gas grille and rotisserie for outdoor cooking. The gourmet kitchen sports a classic Aga stove with 6-burner gas cook top, oversized Viking fridge, dishwasher and a huge central island bench, typically the social center of the house. On the other end of the great room is a living area surrounding a stone gas fireplace. The front deck off the living room to the south has breathtaking views of Bear Creek and Ballard Peak. There is also a half bath on this level.

The entry level features the master suite, with queen bed, closet, ceiling fan, and private bathroom with shower, clawfoot tub and double vanity. Also on the entry level is a second queen bedroom with closet. These bedrooms have beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The other entry-level bathroom includes a steam shower and serves the second bedroom as well as the outdoor hot tub with stunning views up Bear Creek.

The lower level of the home is in two parts. First, a TV/media area with a huge flat screen TV (Apple TV, Sonos, Blue Ray, DVD), a wet bar with bar fridge, and a pool table that converts to a regular table if required. There are DVDs, games, and books galore. Adjoining is the “bunkhouse,” a self-contained private suite with a bedroom (king or two twins) and the kids’ favorite, a bunk room with four twin bunks. These 2 rooms share a bathroom with double vanity and combined shower/tub. There is an additional half-bath serving the TV/media/pool table areas, and a laundry room down there as well.

We have two off-street parking spaces available, one in the garage (not suitable for oversized vehicles) and the other a parallel spot outside the garage door, and we can provide an on-street parking pass for one vehicle as well.

Please fell free to contact us with any questions about the house or about the Town we love.

Fantastic house and location!
The house is very nice and cozy with great family social areas and fantastic views of the mountains. The neighborhood is nice and quiet but still close to everything. The location could not be better to Main Street Telluride and to skiing. We would love to come again and stay here!

A beautiful and comfortable home…
The location was very close to the main street, but just far enough away that it was quiet and residential. The decks were comfortable and well positioned for amazing views. The kitchen was fantastic - best equipped kitchen I’ve found. We even made homemade ice cream. The house design is really cool and the layout easily accommodates a large group. The adult kids enjoyed the pool table and tv area downstairs. The owner instructions were very helpful and clear. The one question we had was answered promptly. We loved our time at Jonathan and Eleni’s home!

Month Long Stay
The property is just off of Colorado but close to everything. Nice, quiet neighborhood. The two decks offer great views in morning, afternoon and night. The home is well thought out and able to accommodate larger groups very comfortably, if necessary.

Amazing Christmas stay
We could not have ordered a more perfect Christmas stay for our extended family trip to Telluride! Fresh snow, holiday cheer and a wonderful vacation home filled with art and unique architecture details. Before and after days on the mountain, we enjoyed meals in the large kitchen/living room, and for those of us who could stay awake, watched movies in the lower level family room. We’ve been coming to Telluride for 6 years, and this is easily our favorite home rental in terms of location, design and how well is accommodated our extended family from toddlers and teens to adults.

We built our home in 2010 and moved to Telluride full time in late 2013. We live here and rent only during periods when we are away visiting the kids or traveling.

Why they chose this property

We think our house is one of the most beautiful in the Town of Telluride, but we're biased. You be the judge.

What makes this property unique

The house was designed by local architects Peter Sante and Laura Jordan, and their work speaks for itself. Located right in the Town of Telluride, the house is a block to Main Street and a few blocks to the ski mountain and gondola and spectacular hiking trails, yet situated on a quiet residential street.
