Spacious, double height, beamed main space. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting with Montendre just 3kms away with supermarkets, restaurants, wine bar etc..
Situated in south Charente Maritime, the property is ideally located to explore a wealth of interesting areas - Bordeaux, Royan, Cognac, Angouleme, The Dordogne, St Emillion.
We also have Talmont and Aubeterre, two of the Beaux Villages of France, within a short drive and they are well worth a visit.
The area is rich with lots to see and do, there are many chateaux to explore, beaches to visit, watersports to try, fishing, golf and always plenty for the kids to do. Relaxing, exploring or a mix of everything, the choice is yours.
We have many airport options:- Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Limoges and Bergerac, or if you want to grab the ferry it is a simple drive down the west coast to the property.
Montendre is our local market town with cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and from the Chateau on the top of the hill you can see for miles across the countryside. It has a good weekly market throughout the year and a vibrant evening market during July & August where locals and visitors come together for food, music and wine. Montendre Lac is just 5kms away with a beach, swimming pool and play areas, paddle boats, canoeing and fishing. A recent addition to the town is Mysterra, a collection of mazes for all the family to enjoy. There is tennis, a 9 hole golf course and for those looking for more there are six excellent 18 holes courses within easy reach. Jonzac is 20kms to the north and has a great water park and a spa. There are many many beaches heading up and down the coast and if you fancy a climb there is the Dune de Pilat, the largest sand dune in Europe.
We have an additional property on site, Libellule, which sleeps 6, so if you wanted to extend your family group, we can accommodate up to 10 (+2).
