Nice place butvdidnt get the accommodation i booked.
Nice property. But had stairs. I dont do stair. The accommodation i booked didnt gave stairs so this spoilt our stay.
In all, the place was in general a nice place too stay. I would recommend too bring a fan as there is no air conditioning or fans supplied. I was able too purchase one at a big supermarket a few miles away.
I wouldn't recommend the Kingfisher cabin we stayed in for families with very small children due to some steep steps from the corridor down too the kitchen. Older children no problem.
The host seemed nice enough and didn't bother us.
The property allows pets but dogs must kept on a lead in the yard and walking wise there isn't really anything nearby within walking distance too let the dog off the lead but there are woods and beaches within driving distance.
In all the property was nice and i would think of booking again in the future.

Wales vacation
Positives: Hosts were very helpful; Plenty of parking; Easy access to the property; Bedroom linens new and very comfortable, Full kitchen, including a freezer compartment in the fridge (bonus!), Hot water on demand
Negatives: Kitchen pots and pans need replacing; Cobwebs everywhere; Too many incense decanters (very strong odor); All kitchen surfaces and cabinet fronts were greasy and grimy; All towels need replacing (very old and ugly); Bathtub was dirty and grimy; The cushions on the two settees in the lounge tended to slide off; The blankets thrown over the settees were unsightly; The TV kept losing signal we thought due to weather, but it turns out the cable wasn't secure to the wall and we didn't figure this out until the last night (very annoying); The lounge was very uncomfortable, basically. In general, the whole place needs a DEEP cleaning and the settees need replacing. For the money we paid it was not good value compared to the three previous cottages we stayed during this year's visit. Thank you.

About the host
Hosted by Rosie
Simon and I have lived here at Duffryn Mawr since 2001 and have quietly built a friendly self catering haven for our guests. We renovated the main cottage first which was built in the 15C and moved in March 2001 with our one year old daughter Izzie. Our son, Paddy, arrived in December 2003 so our family was complete. Once we completed the cottage we started work on the stone barn and it evolved into our lovely holiday cottages which we opened in 2005 just in time for the Wales v Ireland 6 nations Grand Slam decider. What a fabulous weekend with the cottages filled with Irish fans - such a blast! Over the last 16 years we have built up a lovely, relaxed atmosphere for all our guests but boy could I tell you some stories - it has been a colourful ride and we have made some long term friendships with our returning guests. We strive to give a very warm, Welsh welcome and whilst we encourage guests to have peace and quiet we are on hand should you need any assistance with anything during your stay. We very much look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Rosie, Si and family. x
