Stylishly decorated throughout in Farrow and Ball colours the owners have combined work from local artists blended with contemporary and period furniture to create the perfect location for a tranquil and romantic escape away from it all.

The gorgeous open plan kitchen, diner and living room makes for a very relaxing atmosphere. The main living area with its floor to ceiling bi-folding doors leading directly to your private patio and contemporary Scandinavian style fire make it the ideal place to relax and enjoy the views across the stunning landscape at any time of year. Open and airy in Summer, snug and warm during the colder months.

A gorgeous fully fitted kitchen, and the dining area furnished with table and chairs gives ample space to enjoy a lazy breakfast or more formal dining.

The light and spacious bedroom designed with a sumptuous king-size bed dressed in good quality linen guaranties the most relaxing of nights sleep. The room offers plentiful storage with period pine wardrobe and chest of drawers. A full length mirror and dressing table with hairdryer and hair straighteners are provided. Enjoy your favourite TV programmes on the smart TV from the comfort of your bed.

Luxuriate in the exquisite bathroom with its large walk-in rainfall shower and enjoy the complementary local artisan fragrance body care toiletries. Underfloor heating and heated towel rail keep the wonderfully fluffy White Company towels and dressing robes invitingly warm.

On arrival a welcome pack is provided along with fresh eggs from the owners chickens – corn is provided if you fancy wandering over, saying hello and feeding the ‘girls’.

The private patio with furniture and umbrella overlooking Hayshaw Fell and Catshaw Fell is a perfect spot to relax or dine al-fresco.

With the unspoilt Trough of Bowland so close to the doorstep, the garden attracts a plethora of wildlife giving you the opportunity to sit and observe the local fauna and flora at your leisure. The resident Tawny Owl often visits sitting on the patio railings and you may be lucky enough to see the local deer. For the more energetic, bike storage can be arranged pre-arrival, offering the ability to explore the local area on two wheels. Cycle hire is available locally. Local woodlands offer off-road and mountain biking courses. Local walking maps are available of the owner’s favourite walks along with advice on other great routes to try.

Easy access to the M6 motorway, Hen Harrier is an ideal base to explore other areas from the hills of the Lake District National Park to the coastline of Morecambe Bay. The area is a mecca for those wishing to enjoy the fresh country air and explore the local footpaths or cycle the quiet country lanes. Cottage was beautiful, modern, cosy, everything you would have wanted for a romantic break! Each room was completely spotless and for a very new property it had every little thing you needed. The patio was a perfect sun trap, even this time of year and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather and spent most evenings outside playing cards or board games whilst drinking the odd G&T and the bose speaker was on! The location was remote and peaceful with amazing views and would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a quiet break!
