3-bedroom detached holiday home with spectacular views of the everchanging Dornoch Firth and stunning surrounding area.
The property is within a 20-minute walk or 3-minute drive from Dornoch town centre. Lower Whinhill benefits from having off-street parking, free Wi-Fi and is dog-friendly. Great family holiday home with easy access to the north Highland routes.

Ground floor: The modern lounge/ sun lounge offers guests a bright, airy room with L-shaped settee, TV with Freeview channels and a music station. The sun lounge has 4 armchairs, patio door with access to decked area. Great views toward the Dornoch Firth. The kitchen/ dining area is equipped with an electric oven and induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine/ dryer, microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, pots, pans and plenty of kitchenware. The dining table has 6 chairs. The master bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, bedside cabinets with lights, chest of drawers, built in mirrored wardrobe and a wall mounted mirror. The spacious en-suite bathroom has a bath, shower, wash hand basin and toilet. The wet room has a shower with wall mounted stool, toilet and wash hand basin. Suitable for guests with mobility restrictions. 1st floor: The second bedroom consists of a super-king bed or 2 singles, bedside cabinets with lights, chest of drawers, vanity mirror and a radio. The third bedroom is furnished with a super-king bed or 2 singles, bedside cabinets with lights, chest of drawers, vanity mirror and radio. The upstairs bathroom has a bath, wash hand basin, mirror and toilet. The garden/ outside is a fenced garden at the front of the house, mainly grass. Decked seating area with outside furniture and BBQ. Washing line. Off-road parking for 3 cars in the driveway to the side and at the front of the house. There is an ironing board and iron and hairdryer. The house is heated with an air mass system in the ground floor and electric heaters upstairs. Guests have access to the entire property.

There are several restaurants, bars and shops in Dornoch. Food shops: There is a Co-op and a convenience store in Dornoch. The Co-op is usually open until 10 pm. Tesco, Asda and Lidl supermarkets are in Tain which is a few miles south of Dornoch. Restaurants: Luigi’s on Castle Street, Sutherland House, Links House, The Eagle Hotel, a few others also. Pubs: The Dornoch Inn, The Eagle Hotel, Castle Whisky Bar & Bistro, a few others. Takeaway food: Chinese, Indian, Harry Gow bakers. A car is recommended when staying in the Highlands (especially in the Dornoch area). Taxis operate 24 hours of the day. There is a bus stop in Dornoch that can take you North and South of Dornoch.
No smoking. No parties or events. Check-in time is 4 PM - 10 PM. Check out time is 10 am. Although housekeeping staff will clean the property after you leave, we respectfully ask all guests to clean and put away any plates, cups, glasses, etc they have used during their stay. All bed linen, towels (one hand towel and one bath towel per person), electricity, heating and Wi-Fi are included in the price. A starter pack of supplies includes toilet rolls, complimentary sachets of coffee, sugar, teabags.

Great house in a peaceful location with lovely open views and helpful hosts.
We had a great weekend at Lower Whinhill. House was extremely well presented and stocked .The hosts had thought of everything! We were extremely lucky with the weather with being the middle of September,so added bonus of being able to sit outside relaxing with our dog’s running in the enclosed garden! Lovely independent shops nearby and very friendly staff. Afternoon tea at Mara was a real treat for the ladies while the men very much enjoyed the two local golf courses. Thank you Joan for everything!
