Lake Travis Home on End of Cove!

Wow! Yours is the first VRBO review and only negative review I have received this year. I have been trying to decide how to respond without sounding overly defensive or hostile. I feel I need to clarify some points to provide a more balanced description of our rental to first time renters. I inspected the premises about two hours before you arrived and didn’t find any bugs. Additionally the house was cleaned professionally, has had regular pest control and the hot tub had just been cleaned prior to your arrival. Bugs cannot be avoided in a rural areas even with pest control. We spent a great deal of time PRIOR to your visit discussing the management of the air conditioning, hot tub, lake access and bugs. As for the location, it is one of the most desirable on the lake. Located 8 miles from the Pedernales and midway between Marble Falls and Austin, the lake is never crowded with boats, very deep and is a perfect place to ski/swim. The Cove Pool is approximately 100 yards from the driveway. The lake is approximately 100 yards from the base of the house. However, the terrain is rocky and may be difficult for children to navigate. The marina is ½ mile from the house has plenty of free parking, offers a courtesy dock and a beach like area to swim in. For some people, the cup is half full; for others it is always half empty. I feel your review took the half empty position. No one has ever told me the beds were uncomfortable. Sure the appliances could be updated, but the dish washer works better than the ultra-modern new one I have in Austin. The oven has always performed perfectly for me. When I reviewed you as a renter, I took the half full approach. I recognized that you were staying for four days over a holiday weekend. Despite giving you a discount, I recognized you paid a fair amount of money for the rental. When I inspected the property after your stay, I overlooked the fact that the bathroom screen was pulled off its track, the hot tub clasp was broken off and the hot tub was filled with balloon fragments. I returned your full deposit and gave you an excellent review. I appreciated the fact that you followed my check out rules. I wish you could have treated the review of our home in a more balanced realistic fashion as I did yours.
