About this property
Stella Views has stunning 360 degree views of Long Island, Atlantic & Caribbean
Welcome to Stella Views, the name of the villa simply best represents the true visual outlook. The property is very close to Stella Maris Resort and Stella Maris airport. The property has recently been built to very modern and high standards. The expansive ground floor has two ensuite bedrooms, one outdoor shower with an Atlantic view. A small bedroom and washroom.
The spiral staircase leads to the first floor and a large lounge, dining and kitchen area, and utility room. There are two further bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The lounge opens out to a wonderful terrace area, private pool (not heated but solar blanket is used at times) this pool has just been totally refreshed and looks fabulous. There is a gym, and a separate toilet with changing room. The outdoor hot tub does not work.
The spiral staircase continues to a small office and large roof terrace and the wonderful lookout turret where the "whow" word has been mentioned so many times. A great place to watch the sunrise or sunset with cocktails in hand.
The house is protected by hurricane-rated shutters.
One can explore Long Island which is probably the most beautiful island in the Bahamas. Simple stay in the tranquility of the villa or explore the wonderful island and all it has to offer. The nearest beach is a few minutes' drive at Stella Maris Resort but the island has so many beautiful beaches to offer especially Cape Santa Maria which has been noted as one of the top 10 best beaches in the world.
MORE ABOUT LONG ISLAND:
Situated in the southern Bahamas, Long Island is one of many islands and cays that make up the spectacular Bahamas Out Islands. Many places claim to be paradise, but that really depends on your definition. We define paradise as mile upon mile of silky-fine sandy beach all to yourself, brilliant turquoise water, gently swaying palms, and the finest weather in the Caribbean.
Long Island was among the first land discovered by Columbus in 1492, and in his ship’s log, he described it as “the most delightful island in the world.” The east coast features 150 ft cliffs with crashing surf, while Cape Santa Maria on the west boasts mile upon mile of calm blue water and white sandy beach. As its name suggests, Long Island is over 70 miles long and just five miles wide. Lush green foliage covers the island, and fills the air with the intoxicating fragrances of the Caribbean.
A central road runs from north to south along Long Island, lined with the small villages and beautiful colonial churches that give the Bahamas its untouched feeling. With names like Burnt Ground, Deadman’s Cay, Bunchs, Doctor’s Creek, and Mangrove Bush, these villages offer a glimpse into the relaxed Bahamas lifestyle.
Originally named “Yuma” by Arawak Indians, the island was renamed “Fernandina” by Christopher Columbus in 1492. However, Long Island earned its current name because a seafarer felt it took too long to sail past the island. After all, it is 80 miles long, but no more than four miles wide at its broadest point. The Tropic of Cancer runs directly through the island, giving it two very different coastlines—the dramatic cliffs and caves of the east coast that front the crashing Atlantic waves, and the sandy edged lee side which slopes calmly into the Bahamas Bank. Here you’ll find Dean’s Blue Hole, historic twin churches built in the 1800s and one of the largest caves in The Bahamas.

FLYING TO STELLA MARIS VIA NASSAU (NAS):
This is the most common route taken to Long Island. Nassau International Airport is the major air hub for the Bahamas with many direct flights from the USA, Canada & London. Major carriers include Jet Blue, American Airlines, Delta, United, Air Canada, British Airways, West Jet and Bahamasair. Upon arrival in Nassau, you will need to clear customs/immigration and then take a short flight to Long Island using SoutherenAir (cost is about $130) or Stella Maris Resort Air Service can also pick you up in Nassau and fly you directly to Stella Maris in one of their resort aircraft. This flight is extraordinarily beautiful and lasts about 45 minutes. The cost per person is about $175 each way. (Rate subject to change in accordance with fuel prices) Stella Views is less than a mile from the runway. My property manager will greet you at the airport and drive you directly to the villa.
