I have stayed at many rental properties in Europe but I believe that the Borgo Buio townhouse was the most pleasant. The location within Montepulciano is excellent, the house was very warm and inviting, and Allesandro and Silvia are wonderful hosts. I will stay here again for future travels.

Thanks Rick, and you are a special guest! Silvia and Alessandro
The apartment was so comfortable and well equipped. Large and roomy. We really enjoyed our stay. Silvia is very good at communicating and checked in with us periodically. I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Montepulciano.
My husband, adult niece, and I stayed in the Borgo Buio townhouse for the weekend, it was wonderful. The location is ideal and the house is clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. All 3 of us rate it a 10 out of 10. Silvia was easy to communicate with, even when a glitch with our VRBO account blocked our ability to message her directly. I enthusiastically recommend this Borgo Buio townhouse and the charming town of Montepulciano.
Our stay in Montepulciano has been amazing. And the house we booked has been by far bigger and even more impressive, than expected after seeing the pictures. Clean, big, comfortable and equipped with everything you need. Located in the historical center of Montepulciano it offered a great starting point for walks around the city. Offering restaurant, bars and shops in less than 10 mins walking distance. The host has been really polite and nice. Check in was easy and also her tips regarding free parking lots have been of great help. This town house is definitely a recommendation and worth to book.
We recently stayed for a couple of nights at Borgo Buio Town House prior to moving to the countryside for a wedding. This was our second time staying here. Our host Silvia was so helpful prior to our arrival even with questions about local services to help my niece who was getting married. The location for walking around the town was good. Please be prepared to haul your luggage up a hill as you cannot park close. Once inside the apartment you will find it very comfortable and well appointed. The view of the Tuscan countryside out of the bedroom window was breathtaking! We enjoyed our stay.
We had the absolute pleasure of staying in Borgo Buio Town House, tucked into the heart of Montepulciano’s historic center. The house itself was a perfect blend of tradition and comfort—spacious, beautifully maintained, and filled with character. With two generously sized bedrooms and two bathrooms, we had plenty of space to settle in and unwind. The fully equipped kitchen was ideal for preparing meals or just sharing morning coffee while the sunlight poured in. We enjoyed our evenings, gathered around the piano in the cozy living area. Glasses of wine in hand, we played music, laughed, and soaked in the warm, timeless spirit of Tuscany.Silvia was an incredibly welcoming hosts, attentive yet unobtrusive, and was always available to answer any questions we had.
Rustic Tuscan home in the old part (borghetto) of MontepulcianoAppreciated how close to the town and to parking it is. Silvia was extremely helpful in telling us how to navigate paid parking for dropping off luggage and then finding free parking in a couple different lots. She answered questions regarding catching a train even before we arrived. Kitchen was well equipped although we didn't use it. Appreciated using the washing machine. My only negative comment is the absence of a hand towel in the downstairs bathroom.
Silvia was a wonderful host. She made check in and check out so easy. The townhouse was perfectly located to spend a week exploring historic Montepulciano and beyond. We did day trips to Florence and Montecino, as well as enjoying local wineries, tasting rooms and restaurants.
The townhouse was very comfortable for two couples. We were so excited to see the preparations for the Christmas Market and we got to spend the opening day/night at the market. It was magical (even with a bit of rain).
The best way to summarize this property is to say it was unbelievably fantastic! The VRBO photos told the whole story. It was welcoming with charming decorations and colors, very comfortable sofa and beds, plenty of seating, and 2 bathrooms which were perfect for our 4 adults. There are some very steep steps going to the second bedroom on the third level, but they are manageable and definitely worth it.
The apartment was strategically located for all of our adventures. Parking was a little confusing at first but once we figured out that we could park wherever the parking lines (indicating individual spaces) were white, it became a lot easier. The spaces you want to avoid are any that are painted with blue lines.
About 3 minutes down the hill from the apartment (which is basically the first door on the right as you go up from the main street into the town, there is a wonderful produce store. Delightful women to help you, delicious huge green olives, and the most wonderful gigantic garlic you've ever seen called aglione. Continuing down the hill there is also a huge supermarket called Conad where you can find anything you need.
Then from the apartment you can wend your way up into the town with charming shops, stores for cheeses and meats, local coffee, beautiful art and leather, gorgeous views and wonderful restaurants. There is a very good one right across the street of the apartment called La Pasione. Excellent food. But the best was called Godimento Di Vino, Ristorante Enoteca where we had Florentine steaks and Entrecots that were the most phenomenal cuts of meat imaginable and perfectly cooked.
Silvia and Alessandro were great hosts, very accommodating and helpful.
Thank you both for sharing your wonderful home. We'd loved our stay.

This nicely done apartment within the lower wall of Montepulciano. Great kitchen, decorations and bath. A plus is the clothes washer. The bedroom on the third floor stairs were too steep for those of us who lack agility. It is within 100 meters of coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. Parking is free but a 200 meter walk.
sorpresa, stupore, improbabile-ottima località molto ospitale, cibo eccellente specie all "Pentolacci
ottima posizione strategica sia verso Val d'Orcia, sia verso Umbria e Lazio. proprietà molto ben attrezzata, tutto nuovo, rilassante e positivo .spero di ritornarci. ho scritto solo ora perchè ero in Francia, ora eccomi qui:tuttok!|
