This is our 5th property on vrbo located on the Southern Illinois wine trail!
Wine Country Farmhouse: The ultimate wine trail getaway this 5-bedroom, 2.5 bath room vacation rental house on the Wine Trail. Situated on 120 acres with a private lake, this stunning House has beautifully appointed living space, allowing up to 16 lucky guests to spread out and socialize, inside and outside! When you’re not taking advantage of the Wonderful amenities, a short 10 minute drive will get you to Starview Vineyard, while a 20 minute drive brings you to Giant City!

A wooden bridge and horses will greet you as you are driving up the driveway. The ambiance is warm and stunning as soon you come up the driveway.

For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the chef of the group can easily prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen, and all of the necessary cookware.

A large Stone fire pit is waiting for you after a perfect day on the wine trail . Located within a few miles of StarView and Alto Vineyards. 4 minutes to get Tacos and Abbey Ridge Brewery.
Our Estate property is 120 acres. The Lodge is within 15 minutes of Southern Illinois University and Giant City.

The property was beautiful and felt so quiet and secluded, which is exactly what we were looking for! Right on the wine trail, literally 4 minutes from Star View. Brian was so kind and made sure to stay in touch in case we needed anything, and the biggest bonus was the mini horses!

This is our second time staying here. It is close to great hiking and the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. It is a beautiful property! Everything is very clean and comfortable. We enjoy fishing on the lake and the very nice fire pit area. The owner checked in to make sure everything was good. He is friendly and you can tell he takes great pride in the property. We will definitely go back!

Owner was super responsive and helpful. Clean, well stocked and nicely renovated property. Private with great fishing and relaxing. There even was an ice machine which was super nice. Would stay here again.

Great house for our big group!

We loved staying at this house. The host was a great communicator and helpful before we even arrived. The animals were perfect, there was tons of outdoor hanging out space (boats, chairs, fire pit, decks, etc.), and inside was exactly as advertised. Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Inside had great AC for the hot summer months and a huge kitchen table that the whole family could fit at.

Lovely place and property

Enjoyed a few days here. Secluded but not far from great places to hike and surrounding small communities and larger town of Carbondale. Host was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great time celebrating my mom's 80th birthday on the property. We were a larger group and there was plenty of space, bedding, towels and other amenities to accommodate our large group.

Perfect Girls Weekend location!

We had so much fun at this property! The homeowner, Brian, was very helpful and responsive. We hit the wine trail for one day (party bus pick up at the house), but the property has plenty to offer on its own. With property to explore, ponies to visit and a beach at the lake that’s perfect for playing in the water, we could have easily taken a more relaxing route. Highly recommend!

Great location and space

Plenty of room to spread out. Came down for a wine trail. Brian was easy to get ahold of. Only concern is the bathroom with the shower- the glass door/wall didn’t seem as secure as it should be and water still got out onto the floor. Would love to come with kids in the summer to utilize the pond!

Hiking weekends

The owner is amazing. He was quick to respond to our questions. Would like to have more instructions on arrival like internet connection and departure. The location is fantastic. It is convenient to wine country and hiking as well as great dining and antique shops. We like the idea of when it is warmer coming and enjoying the entire property.

The Farmhouse was the best! Provided many onsite fun with opportunities to enjoy water sports, such as kayaking, paddle boats, rafts, and paddle boards. Also fishing if you would like. There are 3 lovely mini ponies that love to be spoiled on! And lots of wildlife to see. The house was clean with the perfect amount of space for our group! We loved enjoying a movie each night in the tv room. It was a joy and relaxing weekend at the farmhouse! We can’t wait to spend time here again!

Beautiful!

There is nothing negative to say about the home and property! It was so peaceful and beautiful. I took my children, their spouses and my grandchildren. Everyone loved the horses, and especially the lake. The water was clean, no hesitation about getting in and swimming. Between the paddle boat, kayaks, paddle boards, and lily pad, everyone had a blast! The firepit area was perfect after the sun went down. The house was very nice and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!

Great peaceful getaway w/ nearby amenities!

We loved our stay at this country house w/ all the modern amenities you need to feel comfortable! The kids loved getting on the water in the boats and my mom loved admiring the nearby houses while drinking her coffee. Perfect getaway for us to all get together with nearby hiking at Giant City Nature trail and wine tasting! Brian was easy to connect to if we had questions. We appreciated his hopsitality! Definitely be cautious of ticks - they were everywhere the minute you stepped foot on the grass. We didn't feel comfortable getting in the water due to farm runoff/algae blooming but didn't stop us from paddling w/ the many options that we had right on the dock!

Perfect getaway for a group of longtime friends! The host was amazing! Helpful and communicative. The property was beautiful with private lake and ponies! We really loved the property. Especially the lake that was on the property that came with life jackets and water sports equipment. It really allowed us to enjoy the full extent of the property. Only gripe is I believe the property listed there were 3 full bathrooms and in reality there were two and a half bathrooms. We made it work but it would have been nice to know there was a half baths. Schedule shower time for big groups!

The home is as photographed. The shower mentioned in previous comments is the only issue, but not so much for the guests as it is for the owners. The floor gets very wet.Beautiful property, clean, clear pond and convey location for So. Illinois, right in the middle of needful things and wineries. Definitely would return. Perfect for large families, group of couples getaway or just a private hideout for a quiet long weekend.

We had a wonderful relaxing girls weekend in this lovely home in the country. Check in is super easy. Brian, the owner, is very communicative and easy to reach. This charming old home was just the spot for us to relax and get together with friends. The kitchen is spacious. Beds are very comfortable. The view from the porch is spectacular at sunset. We loved visiting the little horses every evening. Location is just minutes from several wineries and Makanda for shopping. We will definitely be back!

Perfect for a family reunion

This 5 bedroom home was perfect for our family get together of 12 people ages 2-73. It was hot so we especially enjoyed the little beach with kayaks and paddle boards and fishing from the dock. By the way the fishing was great - caught lots of bass and blue gill. The owner, Brian was very easy to communicate with and his advice to us was HAVE FUN and let him know if there is anything he can do to improve the experience.

Cousins weekend

Loved staying at the farmhouse! It was nice to have a safe place to visit and we were all together. The only issue was there were no bathroom upstairs and most of us was was over 50 , we needed a closer bathroom for those who self upstairs. Overall the stay was wonderful. Thank you for renting to us.

Great house and location!

We rented this house for 4 people for a short girls getaway on the wine trail. The house was very comfortable, plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have their own space. Bedding was all clean and comfortable. We loved the little lake and spent one day sunning on the dock and the other day going to a couple of the close by wineries. The location on the wine trail is great. We would absolutely come back to this property!
