About this property

Modern 4BR Harbourfront Century Home

The ideal home base for your retreat to PEC. An authentic country home with a cozy charm, but lovingly restored and renovated with just the right mix of stylish touches. Spacious both inside and out, ideal for families, group of friends, or company retreats - large enough that everyone has a seat at the dinner table ; ). A literal stone's throw from the Picton Harbour, steps from the main strip, and a short jaunt to all of the wonderful wineries, beaches and beauty that the County has to offer.

The space

Legitimately one of the first houses ever in Picton, built in 1840 but looking incredibly good for her age. This two-storey brick residence has been updated from top to bottom to offer a more contemporary take on an historic heritage home.

Art-inspired design in each and every room, featuring an array of local artists and pieces from around the world, everything from colourful cityscapes to clever Canadiana.

Rooms of all shapes and sizes to sleep 8 comfortably - the primary with ensuite, the second bedroom with fireplace, the bunkroom (*main bedrooms on 2nd floor) and the sunroom. Plus 3 full bathrooms, with rain shower faucets and a classic, old school deep soak tub.

- The place is beyond bright, with big windows and high ceilings.
- An entirely modern (and roomy!) kitchen. All new, stainless steel appliances.
- Kitchen's adjacent to the living room, with lots of comfortable seating.
- Along with a Smart TV, for rainy day Netflixing!
- An incredibly long dining room table, to host meals fresh from the BBQ.
- Also an interesting/unexpected spiral staircase, connecting dining and bedroom.
- Carefully curated furniture, the right balance of sleek and snug.
- A large, spacious fenced-in private backyard with a little over half an acre of greenspace.
- Two big sun-filled decks, perfect for quiet morning coffees or family dinners.
- Three gas fireplaces.
- And more than enough cozy spots to dive into a good book.

We loved our stay in central PEC-very walkable to many great restaurants and shops in Picton. The beds were very comfortable. It was a great space to spend Thanksgiving with our family. Our pup had a great stay, too. Thanks Dan & Dan!

House was very clean and had everything we needed for a three night stay. A number of restaurants were within easy walking distance and the kitchen was well supplied with dishes and cooking utensils for the meals we chose to have there. Would definitely recommend to others.

We had a great stay at this property! The location was fantastic—close enough to easily walk into the city center while still being in a quieter area. Just a heads-up for anyone with mobility concerns: the walk involves going up a fairly steep hill. It wasn't an issue for most of our group, but we drove my mom since she's elderly and recently had knee replacement surgery.Parking was excellent. We had three vehicles and had no trouble finding space, which was a huge bonus. The condo itself had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed having two patios—one that got plenty of sunshine and another that stayed shaded, so there was always a comfortable spot to sit. We also loved the easy morning walk down by the marina. The only downside was that the property wasn't quite as clean as we had expected when we arrived. It wasn't a major issue, but it was noticeable. Aside from that, everything else met our expectations, and we really enjoyed our stay. We'd definitely consider staying here again.

Comfortable home in a great location

We had a fabulous time and the accommodations were perfect for what we needed. We were super centrally located for the activities we did and were able to walk to dinner in downtown Picton. The Dans were super responsive and helpful. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend it.

Great stay in Picton!

Perfect spot for six friends together for a cycling weekend in the country. Plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms to accommodate us all. Funky decor to add to the enjoyment. Conveniently located near Picton Main Street for shopping and dining out.

We enjoyed our week at The Dans. Place was clean and well-appointed and the combination of rustic century home with modern updates was really charming. All appliances worked well, linens were clean and the place had lots of room to entertain. Check in and check out was super smooth and the hosts were responsive if we had any questions. It was nice being a 5 minute walk from Main St and all wineries and attractions are a short drive. Would definitely recommend.

Great spot. Clean, roomy, heritage home. Close to Picton main street. The rental home was great but very disappointed with communications from VRBO. That was awful.

PEC getaway

Great house right near the centre of Picton! There's a nice big backyard and deck which is perfect for outdoor dining and hanging out. Inside the house is also great - a nice big kitchen, multiple bedrooms and neat decor. I would recommend for a group of friends or family getting together.

Great for groups

We had a lovely four night stay while exploring the County. Ample room for two couples and two kids (and a dog) and more would have fit easily. Conveniently close to Picton shops and an ample back yard was handy for the dog. The large kitchen and dining room were great for preparing a few meals and eating as a group. Some things could do with a bit of a refresh (e.g. broken blinds, old couch, shower curtain) and noise is a consideration as it is on a busy road, but it did not dampen our stay and we would easily recommend this place. Great communication from the host as well!

Girls weekend

Enjoyed our girls weekend, great location, close walk to town and short drive to Bloomfield, local wineries, Sandbanks. Beautiful home, lots of space to accommodate 6 adults. House did smell a little musty upon entering, but really a non issue. Loved it! Linda & friends

Everything to recommend

I've been staying in the county at least once a year for the past 15 years and this place is definitely one of my favorites. It is such a beautiful place and so tastefully decorated. It is also spotless. Communication with the owners was always very prompt and very helpful. And the location was fantastic - very short walk to main street in Picton. While we didn't get to use the decks and backyard (it was November), they looked great too. Oh, and did I mention, there's 3 bathrooms? I'd book here again without hesitation.

PEC wedding

This was the perfect place for my family and in-laws to share while in the county for our nephew/grandson’s wedding. We were right in the middle (approx 15 min) to Bloomfield for the rehearsal dinner and took the same time to the wedding venue in Milton—also, walking distance to restaurants, stores, and of course Slickers for ice cream. Lots of space in the house to have time to ourselves, yet also gather as a family to play games and spend time together. Having three bathrooms with showers was incredibly helpful when we all got ready for the wedding! Would stay again and recommend to friends.
