Château La Carrière, a luxury 5 star venue, situated on a private estate of 28ha

Located in the heart of the Dordogne, Château La Carrière (which sleeps up to 16 people) is a newly established luxury 5 Star venue, which can be booked for holidays and small weddings. The beauty and tranquility of Château La Carrière will mesmerise you. Built in the seventeenth century in traditional Dordogne style, which is evident in the shape of the structure (i.e. the towers), the materials used (e.g. limestone), as well as specific details such as windows and shutters.
The property:
Château La Carrière, which sleeps 16 guests in total, can be divided into two parts: the North Wing, the South Wing .
The North Wing of the Château which is the oldest part has 5 bedrooms. One of them is the beautiful and elegant Bridal Suite, which is located in a tower and only accessible by turret stairs. The Suite has panoramic views on all four sides, a super king-size bed and a separate seating area. Below the Bridal Suite is a luxurious bathroom with a built-in dressing room.
Two large bedrooms, Chambre des Lauriers and Chambre des Platanes, are on the first floor of the main building. The former, which has a vaulted ceiling and beautiful wall mouldings, exudes a distinctly elegant atmosphere. The latter, by contrast, has exposed original beams, which give the room a cosy, rustic character. Chambre des Lauriers has two double beds, whilst Chambre des Platanes has one super king-size bed. Both rooms share a spacious marble ensuite bathroom (with extra shower cubicle). Please note that Chambre des Lauriers does not have a private entrance, it is accessed via Chambre des Platanes or Chambre des Rosiers.
Two additional bedrooms, Chambre des Rosiers and Chambre des Cerisiers, are located in the central tower of the Château. Both rooms are dual-facing and have some of the most amazing views of the entire Château. Both have king-size beds Each of the bedrooms has its own marble ensuite bathroom.
Livingroom:
On the ground floor of the North Wing, you will find the large 'rustic' living room with stone walls, exposed beams and an original seventeenth-century fireplace. The stylishly decorated room has spacious comfortable couches and armchairs, where you can relax and unwind. Open the double doors and you will have direct access to the spectacular sun terrace. Aside from a seventeenth-century cabinet and table in Périgord style, there is a TV and a stereo system.
Sun Terrace:
The delightful sun terrace, which measures over 20m/65ft in length. As it is located on the west-side of the building, you can enjoy the afternoon sun as well as awe-inspiring sunsets in the evening. You will find a large comfortable lounge set as well as rustic tables with chairs for lunch and dinner. There are three parasols to protect you from the sun as well as a chiminea in case you would get cold in the evening. There is a WiFi access point on the terrace, which allows you to browse the internet or play music on a JBL Boombox.
Diningroom:
The beautifully appointed dining room, decorated with gilded mirrors and wall sconces, is the perfect place for an evening meal in case the weather would not allow you to sit outside on the sun terrace. There are two large stylish dining tables, which can be adjusted in size depending on the number of people in your group. Double doors allow you to have direct access to the spacious sun terrace.
Kitchen:
Château La Carrière has a bright, elegant kitchen with all the modern conveniences you need to prepare your breakfasts, lunches and dinners. You will find, among others, four Miele ovens (incl. one with the option to microwave), a fridge and a dishwasher in the kitchen, as well as smaller appliances such as a Nespresso coffee machine, and a citrus press. You are supplied with elegant crockery and cutlery as well as table cloths and rattan placemats.
Just across from the kitchen you will find a utility kitchen, which includes a fridge-freezer combination, second dishwasher, washing machine as well as a dryer.
Conservatory:
At the tip of the North Wing you will find the conservatory. There are four comfortable fauteuils, which give you the opportunity to enjoy the adjacent 'French Garden', a small but splendid formal garden with white roses and buxoms. The conservatory is equipped with air conditioning, a fridge and WiFi for your convenience.
The South Wing:
The South Wing of the Château, which is the luxurious lower part of the Château, has three bedrooms.
There are three spacious bedrooms with ample wardrobe space. Chambre des Lavandes, which has a king-size bed and marble bathroom ensuite, has access to a stone balcony with its own private seating area. The bedroom below, Chambre des Jonquilles, also has a king-size bed and marble bathroom ensuite. It has access to a small patio area and its own private lawn. A third bedroom, Chambre des Glycines, has a super king-size bed, which can be converted into two singles. It also has an adjacent library.
Function room
This room is used for weddings and events. The room has no furniture
Cinema:
Guests of Château la Carrière can enjoy films in its purpose-built cinema. Built in a fairytale-like style, the cinema has comfortable silk sofas and fauteuils with accompanying footrests. With a click of a button, the ceiling can be turned into a mesmerising night sky with large and small stars, even some shootings stars!
The cinema has a small DVD collection and can also play Netflix. Guests can also bring their own DVDs and Blue Ray discs.
Bar:
Château la Carrière has its own bar: the Elephant Bar. Here, you and your party can relax with a glass of locally produced wine or an aperitif, either sitting at the bar or the tables.
The Gym and Hot Tub:
Château la Carrière has its own gym, including a treadmill, cross trainer, spinning bike, a full weight set (1-15kg), a work-out bench as well as smaller equipment, such as a medicine ball, a Swiss ball and Bodylastics resistance bands. The gym has air conditioning and a music system, to which you connect via Bluetooth.
The gym also has a luxurious Hydropool hot tub for 6 people, which helps to relieve tension, relax sore muscles and induce deep sleep. There is also a shower and a changing room. Towels will be provided.
The Estate:
Château La Carrière is set on a 28-hectare (66 acre) estate, which includes a huge garden, fields and large forest areas. Situated on a sloping hill and overlooking a valley, the garden consists of a major lawn with various tall and mature pine and deciduous trees. These include sycamores, copper beeches, chestnuts, hazelnuts, weeping willows and various fruit trees. These trees complement the impressive row of platanes adorning the driveway down to the Château.
On the west side of the estate, a path descends into the woods to the bottom of the valley. It meanders through various fields and forest areas belonging to Château La Carrière and connects to several other distant trails. The pathways, which can be used for hiking as well as mountain biking, offer a fantastic way to discover the unspoilt beauty of the estate as well as neighbouring areas.
The Pool & Pool house
The pool of Château La Carrière, which measures 12m x 6m (40 x 20 ft) and is 2.1m (6' 10") deep at the deepest point, is situated in the middle of the main lawn. From there, you have stunning views over the valley and you can enjoy enchanting sunsets. The pool is surrounded by an array of colourful flowers, plants and shrubs, which together form a unique, delightful setting. The pool has plenty of wooden sun loungers, as well as matching tables, chairs and footrests. To guarantee the safety of your children, the pool has two alarms and is surrounded in its entirety by a rustic fence. There is also a shower and guests can receive WiFi at their convenience.
Next to the pool there is a stylish gazebo, which can bring shelter from the sun when needed. Behind the gazebo you will find the Pool House, an octagonal cabin. The Pool House has a shower, toilet, kitchen as well as in- and outside seating areas. Guests can use the fridge and cooking equipment, including a gas hob, oven, microwave and BBQ, at their convenience.
The Lake & lake house:
In the back of the garden of Château la Carrière, you will find an impressive Japanese-style lake. It is surrounded by a wealth of trees, shrubs and plants, and is home to many fish, including a number of large carps. A pebbled path allows you to walk around the lake and take in its beauty. A boat can be used to enjoy the lake from the water. To guarantee the safety of your children, the lake is only accessible via gates in a rustic fence.
There are four small islands in the lake. On the largest, which is accessible by an attractive wooden bridge, you will find the charming Lake House. In this small piece of heaven you can enjoy a relaxing massage by our qualified masseuse. Just lie down and relax...
Children's playground:
Behind the swimming pool, is the Children’s Playground. It includes a playhouse with slide, swings, large trampoline, table tennis table, small football goals, badminton net and soft archery target. You can also play croquet or jeu de boules here.
There is a use of a 4 seater golf car to use around the estate.
