200 YEAR OLD FRENCH COUNTRY HOUSE

Set in extensive grounds in the Vire Valley and 10 kilometres from St Lo. This 200 year old French Farm House can sleep up to 10 in five bedrooms and three on-suite bathrooms and one separate bathroom. Twenty-thirty minutes from the superb , safe, family beaches along the west coast of Normandy and the trendy resorts of Agon Countainville and Granville. There are extensive grounds and ample parking with a bridle way to the village of Quibou with a shop and bar.
There are 4 large double bedrooms and a bunk room suitable for children. There are also two kitchens, two dining rooms and two lounges. Free internet is provided as well as English TV, Netflix and Amazon Prime.
There is full Central Heating for most of the property with back up electric heating and two wood burning stoves.
The house is private and quite and set in the countryside.

Nice but issues

I loved the location, and the host was super responsive. It is a super quiet area, and is close to everything in Normandy you want to see. It is also close to some great local shops that you can walk to with a little bit of off roading. It is also large enough for everyone and has that old world charm. But there were some major issues, two of the three showers leaked, and the attic had weasels that were active all night, keeping me up. The host refunded about one nights stay.

A delightful stay in a classic old country house

We were a family group of six, so there was more than enough space for everyone. The beds and linens were very comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms were all fully functional. We enjoyed one at-home meal, using the living room for appetisers and the dining room for the main meal.

Holiday Le Val -Quibou

Mooie omgeving, zeer rustige ligging. De woning voldeed voor 75% aan onze wensen. Ruime living en gezellig salon. Charmante sfeer. Voldoende huisraad beschikbaar. Minpunten waren de vochtigheid (in het eerste gedeelte van de boederij), de wat beroeste elementen in de douches. De oude afgedankte spullen in de open schuur en de toegangspoort...die laatste verkeert nog in de oorspronkelijke staat van 200 jaar geleden en valt langs alle kanten uiteen. Voor de veiligheid van de honden een minpunt

Satisfait et bien au calme.

Un seul bémol, pour 4couples de retraités C’est parfait mais on m’avait annoncé 5 chambres ,impossible d’utiliser la chambre aux lits superposés pour le cinquième couple de retraités , seulement 2 enfants peuvent y dormir. Ce qui nous a obligé à rechercher une chambre d’hôtes sur Quibou ou Canisy , bref 250 € de plus pour le groupe. Alors bien informer les prochains groupes serait le minimum requis. Mais autrement tout était sans problème. Merci.

Très bon séjour

Nous avons séjourné au Val en famille pour le mariage d’un enfant à proximité. La maison est propre et bien équipée et le propriétaire très réactif pour répondre à nos messages.

Quibou en hiver

Bonne impression à l'arrivée ; la maison n'est pas un chateau mais les abords sont propres et l'endroit très calme à l'écart de la route ; Nous entrons dans une maison glaciale ; le contact téléphonique transmis par le propiétaire anglais...ne parle pas français mais on s'explique et il arrive sans délai nous mettre le chauffage en route ; il redouble de gentillesse donc cela nous fait oublier ce désagrément ; toutefois la maison est immense et c'est long ! les 2 dernières chambres n'ont qu'un petit radiateur électrique d'appoint... Au fond, le plus gênant fut l'inégalité des couchages ; chambres très inégales en taille et prestation(parents enfants OK, mais nous, 5 couples d'adultes "sénior"), en particulier les 2 dernières avec sdb en bas douche pas terrible et stt hyper froid et condensation ; autant d'inconvénients...gommés par les équipements et la grande propreté des lieux ; à revoir : le four qui n'a pas fonctionné (utilisé celui du 2ème gite) et absence d'une table pour 9/10 personnes, pris celle de cuisine qui du coup manque !

Belle maison de campagne

Maison de campagne spacieuse à la décoration originale. De l espace et ce petit côté manoir de nos ancêtres permet de passer un bon week-end au calme.

Maison chaleureuse

Agréable séjour en famille (5 adultes de 40 à 75 ans, 2 jeunes enfants et 2 ados) dans maison de campagne chaleureuse, avec un certain standing mais sans chichis, où l’on se sent comme chez soi. Nombreux produits à disposition (papier toilette, linge de maison, produits ménagers et alimentaires de 1ère nécessité). La structure du logement est surprenante et permet de grandes parties de cache-cache! Les chambres sont spacieuses (sauf celle des lits superposésc, la cuisine est bien équipée, vaisselle en quantité suffisante. Prévoir de bidouiller un peu entre la table de la cuisine et celle de la salle à manger si vous êtes nombreux. John est réactif et sympa! Nombreuses sorties culturelles ou « nature » dans le secteur (à 20-30 min en voiture). Bar-épicerie et boulangerie de qualité dans le centre du village de Quibou.

Superbe séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Val ! La maison est spacieuse, fonctionnelle, très bien décorée. L'emplacement est très paisible. John et son ami Mark ont été très réactifs lorsque nous avions besoin d'eux. Je recommande cette location !

Natürlich und unkompliziert!

Altes, leicht renoviertes Bauernhaus im normannischem Stil. Genug Platz für alle in einer ruhigen, ländlichen Umgebung. Hat alles, was man im Alltag benötigt. Man kann schön grillen im Garten. Wifi funktioniert. Guter Ausgangspunkt für D-Day Interessierte oder Ausflüge nach Saint Michel bzw. Saint Malo. Wir konnte sehr gut im Meer baden. Ideale Umgebung für Meerfrucht- Liebhaber. Die Austern konnte wir sogar selber sammeln gehen, wenn man weiss wo. Sehr zu empfehlen ist ein Gourmet- Restaurant in der Nähe: La Cocotte- Gourmade. Ca. 5 Km vom Haus weg. Etwas teuer aber halt Gourmand und freundliches Personal. Der Besitzer des Wohnhauses spricht englisch. Betten sind etwas zu weich nach meinem Geschmack, aber halt französisch und auch okay. Wir hatten jedenfalls tolle Ferien und ein Danke an John, dass wir in dem Haus sein durften. Preis, Leistung super okay!
