Marveelous house with views of the Firth of Clyde!
Janina and Mark were fabulous hosts! We loved the house and the location in Helensburgh. It was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely rent it again.
The property, a Georgian mansion, was beautiful and everything had been done to provide what was needed for our protection against Covid. The furnishings, cooking utensils, crockery and glassware were all high quality and we were greeted with chocolate biscuits, sparkling wine, tea, coffee and milk. When we entered the property we were met with a lovely aroma from a Molton Brown diffuser - just lovely! We were a family of five - Grandparents, Mum and Dad and an almost 3 year-old who decided that we were living in 'the big house'. There was a wonderful dining room and an even more spectacular upstairs sitting room which we did not use on our short visit and we were very comfortable in the dining kitchen with cosy nook with large screen TV. The hosts, Janina and Mark, were attentive and readily available. An excellent base for visiting the Faerie Trail, the Sea Life Centre, Balloch Country Park and Geilston Gardens - we were kept busy.
Our family, with two teenage boys, stayed in this lovely home for six nights. It is by far the nicest VRBO we've ever visited. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would do so. The house is immaculate and clean, and had every possible comfort available - from coffee, tea and chocolates to champagne and fluffy towels. The historic Georgian estate proudly looks over the River Clyde, and has been lovingly restored by the hosts. The views are incredible, and the location is close to everything you may wish to visit in Helensburgh. You can easily walk out the front door and stroll along the river to town. The house has a fantastic open floor plan on the main level, and is so incredibly welcoming and comfy! We couldn't wait to get back home at the end of the day. Janina and Mark are the most lovely hosts, and couldn't do enough for our family. They provided excellent recommendations for so many cute and trendy restaurants and coffee shops in Helensburgh. The great room upstairs is spectacular and provides three huge windows with views of the water. You can enjoy your tea, coffee or evening beverage in this room that has fascinating period details, but is also as comfortable and welcoming as your own home. Every room in the house is as clean and updated as if it was just renovated yesterday. My entire family - even the teenagers - fell in love with this home, and we can't wait to return for another visit.
We loved the house. It is nicely decorated, beautiful rooms. Classical renovated with a modern touch. Beautiful colours. A lot of paintings, art objects and books to admire. The house is clean and homy. The welcome was lovely with coffee, tea, biscuits and wine. Janina and Mark were helpfull and very friendly. The house is nicely located. There is a lot to do in the environment, architecture, visiting gardens, castles and cities. It was the best house we stayed ever. Janina and Mark, thank you for a wonderful holiday.
Deepdene is a detached Georgian property which has been lovingly and practically renovated by Janina and Mark. The welcome and the property have already been accurately described in other reviews and our hosts were unobtrusively available whenever we had a question or needed help. On the one fine day whilst we there, we enjoyed a scenic 2-hour cruise on Loch Lomond and we recommend La Barca (tapas) and The Sugar Boat (modern European) for dining within walking distance. If the weather isn’t great, as well as the art, artefacts and antiques to be admired throughout the property, there is also a fabulous book collection, for readers of all ages to dip into. Thank you, Janina and Mark, for a wonderful home-from-home and for your thoughtful and kind hospitality.
The pictures do not do this lovely place justice. One of the best places we’ve stayed. From the welcome bottle to the fluffy towels, it couldn’t have been better.
Janina was very responsive to any questions we had. Highly recommended host and home
The best house we stayed ever. The house itself is grand old Georgian house. The décor is beautifully done with lots of good tasty art. I liked the colour scheme as well. and it was so clean!
