About this property
Stunning Seaside Cottage in Horsey. Walk to Beach, Seals & Norfolk Broads
CURLEW COTTAGE - LOVELY WALKS TO HORSEY'S SANDY BEACH, SEALS AND NORFOLK BROADS; Great location with a pub with a large beer garden very close by.
Curlew Cottage has been carefully refurbished to create a stylish yet warm and homely atmosphere. After a day out walking, cycling, birdwatching, seal spotting, or playing on the beach you can look forward to returning to the comfort of Curlew Cottage and be able to relax.
This charming semi detached bungalow has wonderful walks to Horsey’s Seal Colony AND Horsey Mere, on the Norfolk Broads - with good circular walks too - past Horsey Mere, the Beach or both.
The contemporary kitchen and dining area has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Enjoy sitting around the kitchen table with your morning coffee, and a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore the Coast and The Broads. When you return curl up on the three seater sofa with a good book. The family bathroom, with bath and large shower enclosure is modern and luxurious and provides the ideal place to wash away the salt and sand from your coastal adventures.
The beautiful enclosed garden reached through the kitchen also provides the perfect place to start your day with a fresh breakfast on the terrace. Or later in the day, it's a great spot to fire up a barbecue and enjoy a glass of wine.
*** Off Street Parking for 2 cars
*** Beautiful Master bedroom with King Size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
*** Twin bedroom with chest of drawers.
*** Bathroom with large shower cubicle, bath and wc
*** Open plan kitchen/sitting room with door from kitchen area to large secluded garden. The newly fitted kitchen has a hob, cooker, microwave, under counter fridge, and dishwasher. The sitting room area has a dining table for 4, ample seating and a TV.
*** Utility room with sink, washing machine and 2nd under counter fridge (this one with a freezer compartment)
*** Good quality towels and linen are provided
*** Completely private and enclosed garden with large patio area with table and chairs.
As well as being minutes away from one of the most accessible seal colonies in East Anglia, it is also an easy walk to Horsey Mere (Norfolk Broads) with its iconic National Trust Wind pump. On the other side of the lane to the front of the cottage there is a beautiful old traditional barn being renovated (currently being re-thatched). Curlew Cottage’s lovely large, enclosed and secluded garden is tucked away at the back of the cottage, and is completely private. It has a large terrace with bbq, and a garden table with seating for 4.
Come and enjoy our very special part of Norfolk. Horsey is one of the most important wildlife spots in East Anglia, not only for its incredible seal colony on Horsey Beach, but also if you are a keen birdwatcher. ‘Horsey’ is where it all began for the 'european cranes' remarkable return to the UK. These majestic birds settled and bred here for the first time in the UK in almost 400 years. Many other species of birds thrive here and one wonderful way of seeing all the wildlife is on Ross's Wildlife Boat trip on Horsey Mere on the Norfolk Broads (April - Oct).

Enjoy the huge expanse of Horsey's wonderful sandy beach for long coastal walks, beach holidays and sandcastles in the summer.
Enjoy the magic of being on the Norfolk Broads. Head off kayaking, sailing or motor boating on a nearby Broad.
Climb to the top of Horsey's National Trust wind pump and see the wonderful views across Horsey Mere.
Visit Poppyland's Dads Army themed café, The Nelson Head and The National Trust Tea Room (Apr - Oct) all in Horsey!
Just up the road is Sea Palling’s Blue Flag beach where you might even be tempted to try out the surf. Plenty of beaches to choose from up and down the coast.
Curlew Cottage is the perfect base for exploring Norfolk’s beautiful coast as well as The Broads with the added bonus of seeing lots of seals just an easy walk from the cottage.

We have been living locally for the past 20 years and love this special part of Norfolk. This is our second holiday rental. Our first one, Seal Cottage, Horsey which we set up two years ago has had wonderful reviews and is fully booked from 4th July until the end of September. If you want to find it for peace of mind before booking Curlew Cottage or want to book it instead, do try by typing in 'Horsey' and have a look at the reviews. If you are not having any luck please do message me.
