The location of this apartment is wonderful. It is so convenient for dining, sightseeing and local shopping. However after that, everything went south for us.
The property owner was committed to other business and could not welcome us. So, he sent his son-in-law instead. Although he is a nice young man, he gave us no explanation of anything in the apartment or how anything worked or where anything was. When I asked him where we could park our car he said he would get in the car and bring us to legal parking. So, he brought us to a place where everyone was parking on the sidewalk and although I questioned it, he assured me it was perfectly legal. Unfortunately, when I went back to the car there was a parking ticket on it and it cost me
60 Euros to pay it. When I told the owner of the apartment this, his only response was, “well, you are not allowed to park on the sidewalk
in Portugal “…Duh!
I might add that the beds in both bedrooms were rock hard and the utensils in the kitchen were sparse, cheap and the cutlery easily bendable if you tried to cut anything. We had to go out and buy our own sharp knife, bread knife and spatula. If we are renting an apartment with kitchen it is because we want to take some meals in and the place should be outfitted appropriately. I have not had these issues in any of the other places we have rented in the three weeks we have been here so far.
This could be a 5 star rental with a little thought and investment!
