About this property
Panarea- Isole Eolie, 'A PICCIRIDDA , OVERLOOKING THE SEA
In Panarea, Isole Eolie, this little independent delicious house, 'A PICCIRIDDA', from which its name in Sicilian dialect, is very special for its wonderful position overlooking the sea where you can admire the fantastic view of the active volcano “Stromboli” ant its nightlly eruptions and the smaller islands Basiluzzo, Dattilo, Lisca Bianca, Lisca Nera and Bottaro. The house has a very nice double-room with a great half-roundel window, 2 meters large, so as from the bed you have the wonderful sensation to be floating on the sea. Bathroom is adjacent to bedroom.
Kitchen is small but efficient with fridge, freezer and oven.Outside a splendid terrace with a masonry sofa, comfortable seats and two tables for dinner for 6 persons. The house is in the centre where you can find all you need (shops, food, etc.).“‘A Picciridda” is the ideal holiday place for young couples on their “ honeymoon “ or for more aged couples too who desire to relive happy moments in this unforgettable atmosphere.
Panarea (kmq.3,4), compared to Capri in its best years, is the smallest but certainly the most exclusive and enchanting isle of the all Aeolian Archipelago formed from other six famous isles: Stromboli, Lipari, Vulcano, Salina, Filicudi e Alicudi.
An interesting characteristic of Panarea that contribute to its uniqueness is the total inexistence of carriage-way. In fact the ancient mule-tracks have been today restored for the only use of little electrical cars or some little motor means of transport.
Other important characteristic:_ in the roads there aren’t electrical lights so that the nights in Panarea with its starry sky have really a magical effect_.
With little rental boats you can enjoy of the beauty of the sea with its crystal-clear waters and its fantastic shores, or in alternative you can choose to go to the sea –side near the house.
The island also offers the possibility to go for beautiful walks in the mountain: the highest top is “Pizzo del Corvo” (420 mts.).
how to reach us: How to arrive: From Naples, Reggio Calabria, Messina, Milazzo, Palermo ports: From Naples - 5 hours by hydrofoil (Snav Company ), 1 night by ferry (Siremar Company). From Reggio Calabria: 3 hours by hydrofoil (Ustica lines Company). From Messina: 2,50 by hydrofoil (Ustica lines Company). From Milazzo: 2 hours by hydrofoil (Ustica lines Company/Siremar Company). From Palermo: 4,30 hours by hydrofoil (Ustica lines Company).
From Panarea it is possible to make excursions in the other islands by the hydrofoils service.
The beautiful Mediterranean vegetation is luxuriant of indian figs, brooms, capers and olives.
The Aeolian Archipelago with its wonderful and very interesting volcanic nature, defined one of the most beautiful in the world, in the 19th century has been the destination of some famous travellers; for exemple the Writer Alexandre Dumas (father) and the Archiduke Luigi Salvatore of Austria who were preminently travellers and researchers.
