Historic District: Walk Or Take Golf Cart To The Village

Chez Penny Lane offers an ideal setting for US Open visitors located in Pinehurst's idyllic historic district less than a mile from the Carolina Hotel, Pinehurst Village and the first tee of Pinehurst No. 2.

We adore the community of Pinehurst. It is well known as the home of American Golf and has hosted both the men's and ladies US Open which will return to Pinehurst in June 2029. But in addition to golf the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club offers world-class tennis facilities, 12 pickleball courts, two championship croquet courts, lawn bowling and a four diamond rated spa. The Pinehurst Harness track, host to equine activities ranging from dressage to jumping shows, is also the winter training ground for trotters.

Conceived in the 1890's as a winter resort, the village maintains the New England charm that inspired it. It is a walkable village designed by famed central park landscape architect Frederick Olmstead. Walking distance from our home the village features boutiques, casual dining including two pubs and a village green for walking pets and hosting arts and musical festivals. The nearby villages of Southern Pines and Aberdeen offer other shopping and fine dining.

Day trip excursions of interest include: NC Zoo in Asheboro, Seagrove Pottery, Uwharrie National Forest and the Airborne and Special Operations Museum.

Great Time in Pinehurst

Perfect Pinehurst Getaway!

What a wonderful stay in this fabulous home. Pinehurst has always been special to us, but Christine and Buck’s home and their hospitality made it even more special. With each bedroom having its own en suite, the layout and privacy for us and our guests was perfect. The location of the home can’t be beat, and we felt like their home was our home during our stay. Chez Penny was fabulous family getaway!

A beautifully decorated home that exudes the warmth of the owners, Christine & Buck! We were vacationing for family golf camp and had grandparents join in. Three en-suite bedrooms with gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces for entertaining was a fabulous set up. We loved taking the golf cart into town and enjoying all that Pinehurst has to offer from their great location. Thanks for having us - we look forward to returning!

Fantastic experience

Wonderful home in the heart of Pinehurst

Warm, classy, comfortable and private - close to everything. Buck and Christine could not have been more helpful. We loved our time at this beautiful home. My wife and I each had separate office areas during the day and 3 en suite bedrooms is a terrific setup. We already miss the private backyard and outdoor kitchen and can't wait to return. If you're going to visit Pinehurst, this is the place to stay.

Pinehurst Perfection

From start to finish this was a perfect example of how VRBO should work all the time. Thank you so much to these wonderful hosts for their attention to detail and for going above and beyond for us. Great location. Great home. The property is absolutely awesome.

The home is great. Super clean and well equipped (flat screen TVs, large beds, washer/dryer, nice kitchen, backyard, even a golf cart to use). The property is very close to Pinehurst village and the Carolina hotel. We stayed during the US kids championship and could not be more pleased. The outdoor area is awesome for grilling or hanging out. The Warren’s are great owners and have a wonderful home. I would highly recommend this property and will definitely rent this property again the next time we visit Pinehurst!!

Amazing experience. I cannot say enough about how welcoming and generous Buck and Christine are. Their home is absolutely beautiful, it is conveniently located to everything, and yet it is peaceful and quiet. Spotless and well equiped

Cooked Thanksgiving dinner in this beautiful house. The kitchen was well equipped with all utensils, pots and pans and spices to make an amazing dinner for my family. The house is warm and cozy, we had an amazing huge fire in the woodburning fireplace. Could not have asked for a better place to stay with my family for Thanksgiving. Christine was very helpful too.

The house was as described; spacious, well appointed, and had a generous amount of supplies. It’s location in the historic district, close to the village of Pinehurst made for enjoyable morning runs prior to golf. All the comforts of home

This was our second time renting Chez Penny Lane and we plan to rent again. Friendly kind hosts, amazing location and beautiful home. What really separates this from other rentals is the quality and quantity of how this home is stocked. You can absolutely cook any meal, the bedding is high quality, the laundry room is fantastic. I will also say that I worked from this home. It’s a fantastic remote work location. There are 4 desks in the house and great Wi-Fi.

Great house with fenced yard and golf cart

We enjoyed being so close to Pinehurst resort. It was very easy to take the golf cart up there each day. We also used the golf cart to get to a wonderful park for the kids. The fenced in back yard worked well for the dogs and kids. Yard games were provided. We also enjoyed the grill outside. Cooking was easy indoors with everything we needed. The communication with the owners was very easy and helpful. They are very friendly!! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

MARVELLOUSS HOUSE IN PINEHURST VILLAGE

I have been going to Pinehurst every year! This house makes Pinehurst a special place and its owners make it even better! Chris & Buck are amazing hosts. I assure you that the house is even better than the photos. If you have a family profile, that will be your home. High end equipment in the kitchen. Chris's impeccable decor with reliquary furniture and nothing better than chatting with Buck who is a living encyclopedia of Golf. Just Go!!

Stunning Pinehurst Home Only Gazumped By It’s Lovely Owners

It can’t easily be said how much we enjoyed our stay in Pinehurst. The reasons to visit are obvious. However I can’t underestimate how lovely Chez Penny Lane is and the effort Buck and Christine made to make us feel at home. The property is as listed, with a beautifully manicured garden. The use of the golf cart an added bonus. Given the circumstances we were in (COVID), Buck and Christine went out of their way to ensure the place was sparkling clean and even prior to that giving us a guided online welcome tour. Whilst the home speaks for itself. It can't be underestimated how much Buck and Christine made our stay as fantastic as it was. Can't wait to visit again!

If you love Pinehurst, there is nothing you will not love about this house. Christine and Buck provide beyond top level service with Southern charm you would expect in these parts. My family was beyond thrilled with everything they provided. Take the golf cart to the course, downtown or the spa. Stroll through the historic district or just enjoy the day around their house. We had Thanksgiving at Penny Lane and it was amazing. Christine and Buck leave no stone unturned and were able to book tee times for us and provide fantastic local recommendations when needed. We will not hesitate to stay here again and neither should you. Consider yourself foolish if you visit Pinehurst and don’t stay here.

Being avid travelers ourselves, we welcome the opportunity to provide others with a notable holiday with a hospitable touch and warm welcome! Our home is frequently described as warm and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and each bedroom has an en suite bathroom. We have a fenced back yard and all hard wood flooring. Our kitchen is generously appointed for your culinary endeavors. We are walking distance to the village (7/10 mile), or golf cart.

What makes this property unique

A resort destination with lots of history and charm. Our home is in the historic district just a 10-12 minute walk from Pinehurst. It is truly an oasis amidst the Sandhills of North Carolina.
