About this property
Lovely traditional riverside cottage
Charming 2 bedroom traditional cottage by a stream.
Le Petit Cerisier is one of two recently renovated cottages in a pretty hamlet. There is a gravel terrace to the front and a back garden running down to the stream. Decorated in traditional French country style the cottage has a sitting room with woodburner, comfy sofas and dining table . There are plenty of books and games and good free WIFI conections. There is a TV with English 'free to view' channels. The modern kitchen has patio doors opening onto views of the terrace, garden, stream and fields beyond.
From the kitchen there is a lovely old staircase leading to the two bedrooms and bathroom and going up these stairs is like stepping back in time! All of the upstairs has wide ancient floorboards and oak beamed ceilings. The main bedroom is huge, about 30 square metres (322sq ft). This is funished with 2 old french "lit de coin" which are small doubles of 120cm width. These make lovely generous single beds. The other bedroom has a double bed and the room is 16 square metres (172sq ft).
The bathroom has loo, washbasin and bath with a shower attached. This too is a lovely big airy room (20 square metres) overlooking the back garden.
The small front terrace is gravel and has a table and 4 chairs for sunny breakfasts, at the rear there is a small shaded terrace and quite steep steps leading to a lawn with further table and chairs and barbeque. This has direct access to the shallow, slow moving river. Young children will need to be supervised at all times.
The hamlet has lots of walks in the surrounding countryside, including to the lake after which it is named, and easy access to a wealth of historic towns and villages where you can eat, drink or visit markets, museums or churches.
