Problems with the Aga not hot enough
Had to call for the engineer, as I did last year, as Aga was not hot enough to cook on even after specifically checking twice before arrival to make sure it was working and up to heat. The Aga is turned off for six months during the summer and should have been serviced before relighting in October. It had been turned on and the thermostat set to 6 which is the wrong way to turn it on, The service engineer you sent was very competent and sorted the problem out. Perhaps he should service the Aga before it is turned in next October 2023. Otherwise the property was as lovely and as comfortable as it was last year. A perfect place for a holiday.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful house
We stayed one week at the Farmhouse and had a very good time. The property is in top shape and everything was very pleasant and relaxing. Enjoyed cooling off in the stream behind the house and loved the terrace right next to the kitchen. Restaurant recommendations were really good, but cooked quite a few meals at home and the kitchen has a great layout and very good appliances. Hope we can come back.

Beautifully appointed cottage
A lovely cottage in lovely grounds. Very comfortable and well appointed. Having the games room was an added bonus. Some of our group did go into the river. But a lovely spot to sit and watch for kingfisher and trout. The road to the cottage is narrow with few passing places There appears to be a road construction unit next door which occasionally could be noisy

This is magnificent
We stayed here for three months in total in between moving house. Manor Farmhouse is located at the end of a quiet country lane in its own lovely grounds leading down to the river. The house has been beautifully modernised whilst retaining its original character. The owners have provided generously for your stay - plenty of matching mugs, glassware, cutlery etc, none of the scrappy oddities you find in many rentals. Cat and Jonathan are lovely and look after the place very well and Phoebe Streak, from Dorset Hideaways is amazing, making everything work easily. We rent a lot and this experience has been simply outstanding.

Excellent value
The house had ben fully restored recently, with tasteful décor throughout. All the cutlery, china and cookware was new or nearly new, and of good quality. There were lots of useful kitchen tools, gadgets - even lobster claw crackers. Plenty of storage space; some cupboards were locked; presumably the owners kept their stuff in them. The gardens and grounds were well looked after. The weather wasn't conducive to having BBQs but there were several ovens available, and plenty of outside seating. We've stayed in holiday cottages many time and this was one of the very best.
